Darkness is not the End (Tribute to my sis GOJ)

The scars are there
but they are hidden on the inside
Makes it easier for us to hide
They are not very pretty
but have learned to live alongside
Sometimes buried deep
Sometimes buried
beneath......
Life is made up of darkness and light
What matters most is how
We choose to act on this
Sometimes dark takes us for a spin
Then light finds us and cuts right in
We choose to believe there is
still beauty in this world
Bad stuff in life happens
But guess what? We are still here
There is always going to be darkness
Just look to the light when you can
Don't let life weigh you down
We can always begin again
Darkness doesn't have to be the end
Not when you have a sister....a
unique connection and poetic friend

A Glimpse

I caught a glimpse
Of the sun,
It was hiding
Behind selfish stubborn clouds,

These clouds were covering
The sunlight,
They looked like hooded cloaks -
Like dark scary shrouds.

I caught a glimpse
Of a magical rainbow,
It was hiiding
Behind very heavy hazy fog,

The thick murky fog
Obscured my visibility,
It stole all of the brightness;
A cruel, gloomy, colourless smog.

Startled yet anxious
   I jumped in with one foot
Food for thought
   as the connection was sealed
Passion personified
   exposed we found love

No Social Media
No Twitter
No Email or Text

I was looking to unwind
in a totally different way

No Calls
No Visits
No Car

I drank in the scent of roses
while watching clouds dance.

I walked
I listened
I relaxed.
