and sheath a secret deep
perhaps in ears of night
the stars must whisper sweet

on winds of buried years
from cracks in concrete street

sheeny glow of festive light

mark a mirth of yellow chimes
in chirping chat of cider, wines

my sweet little bird is dead
wide afar free at last
hovering alight moves
to rhythm of the dark

through passing open winds
from foamy feather clouds
its fiery serpent wings
preened away by doubt

and breaks into the blue
shallows of a brook
to find a mirror gaze
anchored crystal look

my sweet little bird awaits
eyes perched on marbled moon
nesting sight of promises
spouting beak a croon

lost in shrubs of distant arms
leaves of plunging dreams
steering tweet a call of night
and grip the shade of trees

though when its frigid heart
may trace a sunlit path
a glancing summer shower
shall spring a velvet bath

my sweet little bird will fly
to blooming meadows ripe
rejoice at warmth of love
and span a tranquil sky

disconcerted play of hues

reaching stony silences
and traces of your mind
hopes in garb of rebel tide
sweep our indigo sky

her love is impish playfulness
her sight a wink of time
her mind a breathing weave of wind
the hungry lease of life

one blushing guilty stare of heart
promises a lie
thinking thinks a sound of it's
music in her smile

cloak of curses hides my muse

when sea is all but salt

rumors
tranquil Mar 2014
If rumors were to be believed, five seconds of gaze into her deep brown eyes could ensnare the wisest of all souls. Could turn them into a monolith of indiscretion; with only remnant of an evidence left behind in the slithering echo of a misdemeanor. As legends go, the mutinous tresses of her hair, with each twist of chestnut curls, inspire the stirring nethers of a churning cerulean sea. On face of what lies as the joy of a crescent enveloped by locks of cloud, her smile could set a storm across the eye of mind. And fill the flickering moment of acquaintance with eternal nostalgia ; the helplessness of an infinitely profound longing with an addicting desire to offend the very fabric of life itself.

If rumors were to be believed, the sky crashed its soul into the foxy eyes of an enchantress; and although she was no Medusa, it still turned to stone.

Moment of Happiness
tranquil Feb 2014
Hours, she sits there on the bench. Her shiny brunette hair dances joyously with the wind and brushes against her soft pale cheeks while staring solemnly at the sun, setting at the horizon and only as you gaze down at her deep blue eyes, that you get to see the pain and misery burrowed deep within her soul.

Gracefully, she stands as the wind speedily picks up its pace with her skirt moving madly above her knees. Starting to walk on gritty sands; leaving an etched footprint to what momentarily will be a past like any other tomorrow...Midway she stops and looks straight out to the open sky that’s been mixed with hues of red. Quietly she lets the calling of birds and the whisper of winds drift away her soul from the little things that held her back. Closed eyes, she starts to breathe deep in; filling her lungs as she tries to reminiscence the early childhood days, “Oh, what days those were! Not having any fear to what has beholden in front of you, as the caring of your parents were an armor to anything bad that was entrusted upon you; and there you were creating an imaginary world of your own that made you feel the strongest of all” she thought.

The sudden noise of waves clashing against the rocks breaks the deep emotions running through her mind leaving a half empty thought hanging around. Annoyed, she picks up the lens that’s been dangling around her neck; peeks through to capture the beauty in peace. Slowly, she bursts out in sigh of relief as she whispers to herself, “Photography is one of the reasons that always kept me going; it was a way of hiding behind a camera and not expose your weakness. All those years being the puppet of fate I spent many nights wishing at the evening’s shining star for a breakthrough. The regret of having left my family at such an innocent and vulnerable stage where I had to fight off for a better life; while my friends went on with their smooth journey’’. Having said that a little soft voice starts to fill the air. ‘’Mommy mommy?’’ turning her head with an abrupt smile looks at the direction of the voice. Before her stands a very young girl with long wavy pig tails in a peachy- pink dress.

Bending down she lends an ear, ‘Yes sweetie?’’ and the little girl continues with full of light and excitement. ‘’Mommy look at what I got, it’s a pearl!!!’’ Opens her little soft palms and there smiling at them was the hugest pearl ever to be found on that beach. ‘’Mommy do you think by me finding this make me a princess of the sea?’’ She laughs thinking of her imaginations when she was at her age. ‘’Yes Tia why not! Maybe when you grow up there’ll be a prince waiting to swipe you across your feet and take you off to your wonderful journey where you’d be ruling your own little world’’. She takes her hand in hers and starts to walk off along the shore. Waves covering their feet just as when Tia starts to whisper, ‘’Mom, I want to be in a world just like yours!’’ She looks down at her with a smile that hid a silent tear. “It might not have turned out the way I wanted; but the one thing I’m always proud to have is you!.”

Unknown to what's in store
The wind
Directs a wave
Onto the shore-

When patience falls apart,
Left with an unfinished start-
It departs.

But as anticipation for more
Grows confident than before.
It returns
Washing a conch ashore

To entrap the sweet murmurs
Of such a magical bliss
Making emotions to quiver
As the melodious message
Waits to be heard.

i do not see them crumble as most
wilting below a burden of naturalized slavery
neither as a remorseless lament of hopelessness
or awkward betrayal by time

i cannot see them crucified by false hope
echoed and embedded in folklore
ardently imposed upon a claim of immortality
piously preached by mercenary saviors

i shall not surrender to ashes
before capricious flames in heart of a nation
smolder the vegetative apathy
of a sickened red fluid in its veins

i shall not be silenced
for i refuse to accept the malignant misinterpretation
of her as a **** and womb only
screaming its last sufferance

she is my mother

a living breathing soul
one heart parched by seasons of drought
melted in romance of a vagrant monsoon
lost in torrents of reminiscence

and lost in memory of a time
godliness wasn't branded on stars
faithfulness wasn't obligatory
devotion wasn't a farce

i long to see distances wail into heaven's ears
shrivel and wither away at the command of my brothers
be shattered to the dust of oblivion
forever dead and buried

i claim the world for what it is
a stunning sight of nature's wisdom
and love alike

i steer my passionate agony
into the inspiring fate of a land
where my guile would be echoed by
rhetorical lovers and leechers alike

and i shall not hold back.
to the loving child of a mother
and his thousand faces
dedicated to the martyrs of my beloved country

talisman
tranquil Feb 2014
prologue -

i demand you drop
all which you have not

and i'll offer you what
you've already got

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

talisman of love

i want you to learn
what you can be
with love you'll earn
your potentiality

its a fear so great
than death itself
an event so rare
when love descends

with love you'll move
towards abyss
tremble and waver
with fear that grips

what will you do
when you cannot run
for it'll beckon you
like the morning sun

it gives a glimpse
into what you can be
for love attracts
you'll clearly see

but is that love
you hold so dear
meaninglessly
for which you cheer

its one false coin
which you invented
to fill your void
and live contented

for without love
life has no point
no charm or luck
no songs or rhyme

for without love
you cannot pray
and feel grateful
or celebrate

for with this love
does soul arise
and shadows below
ego that lies

just one empty gesture
without love life remains
just one possibility
that we all dream to gain

learn the art of nourishment
feed yourself with love
but know love isn't art itself
for it needs no effort

know your inner realms of being
find untrodden spaces
wherein love goes on and on
your aura it embraces

but in a tunnel you've been forced
you have been deeply rooted
one shallow fake guide for all
a love so very limited

you love your wife, wife loves you
children, parents and friends
all them keep on watching while
with truth falsehood contends

all different flavors of love
so neatly arranged
are put up on by who are lost
whom reality estranged

truth is that they fear love
for love does know no bounds
men all which who rule with blood
their spirits it confounds

in three layers of human being
body, spirit and mind
love exists on all three planes
with soul it does align

but here's this love which artists feel
sensitive and pure
thriving on that plane themselves
pulled by its allure

they do not think, they simply feel
because they live in heart
embracing beauties of this mind
the truth they lay apart

no wonder why people then
to love are so afraid
anything this beautiful
is also delicate

know how shards of broken glass
cannot together be put
for sentiments are not stones
treated like roses they should

love is like a fragrant rose
dancing in the rain
like one pious hearty breeze
through all daisies lain

but hearts do want to catch this wind
and call it all their own
but know they not it can't be caught
gilded or cast in stone

rare and few are those who learn
to live their life in moments
witness deeper love of heart
relish this blessed freshness

i don't know which love yours is
perhaps the common kind
are you afraid what shall happen
from life when you resign

certainly it will be gone
but you shall not lose all
a newer kind will arise
which world shall it enthrall

which belongs to privileged few
perhaps to one in millions
kind of love all that can
only be called lovingness

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

talisman of love - gaining love

how it really happens
open your eyes and see
reject all other formulae for
a talisman i give thee

live in love, not for it
i teach you this truth plain
experience existence
in purest form obtain

that love you need i cannot give
but your path i'll light
explain to you how it forms
soak in its delight

these pseudo religions
and battered moral books
cage your soul in silken beams
suspend with silver hooks

you are free to experiment
if adult enough you are
hear nature herself confess
truth which hides so far

love so fake you are proud of
that binds you in soft smother
learn this much that you are you
and the other is other

if you want to taste divine
then jump within yourself
for only if you do renounce
you'll gain the lost itself

only love and its failure
can throw you on inside
if you wish to reach the shore
you have to tear these tides

i make you see this cunning plot
parasites designed for you
deceive, exploit and oppress
like coffin nails driven through

love others is all they say
dare love yourself not
to love yourself is selfish
or so you have been taught

love god, nature, wife and kids
they all go on saying
they all condemn self love
more than they do anything

a man who loves himself
finds no ego in him
one who loves himself not
this world will his soul skim

one can be in love yet be alone
like island in an ocean
when one IS love he is alone
rooted in midst of motion

like ocean throws its waves on shore
on a rock utterly alone
enjoy it like a breath of breeze
in moment born and gone

love is not some drunkenness
nor is it delusion
dissolution isn't unconsciousness
its solemn abdication

see your beauty in loneliness
this reflection foresee
lovers are mirrors to each other
in which they see their being

love makes you aware
of your original face
it celebrates togetherness
yet frees you from *******

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

talisman of love - ritual of hate

love needs no reference
it is the height of freedom
hate you see is *******
for its simply a prison

when you do hate someone
you seed hate in his heart
water roots of jealousy
and crack your world apart

hate is imprisonment
hate provokes hate
violence real or in minds
you fall onto hell's bait

feel outpouring bliss
just share for sharing's sake
for no other motive
in this fest partake

'tis the other side of hate
the love that which you know
scratch your lover's ego and see
witness streams of hate flow

your love isn't really love
it is the very opposite
its hate disguised as love
a ritual you must admit

true love is spontaneous
welling up of joy
showering for no reason which
nothing can destroy

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

talisman of love - reason to love

love without attachment
itself is the divine
for a bird put in cage
can never ever fly

when love in you is emperor
it'll make your soul liberate
and ask for nothing in turn
for rulers never trade

if there's passion in love
does it turn to hell
when there's attachment in love
it decays in golden shell

love can make you fall
it can soar you high
something so mysterious
which you cant subside

strengthen wings of your being
release to open sky
let this bird set out
on a journey to infinite

it is a door one side of which
you see yourself languish
at one side of which is pain
the other side is bliss

this makes no sense as some would say
"i loved yet gained just misery
reaped a crop of thorns i did
throughout my life's history"

their love did simply curtain
passion, jealousy and ***
from outside does what it seem
inside is something else

what was it you did long for
when you were in love
ask yourself if you were not
dazzled with shimmering lust

it shows itself in prayers all
real love becomes devotion
blossom like the spring it shall
and mark your liberation

lovers can't be sent to war
be thrown in dark cannot
for rebels listen to none
when deeper fears drop

when we say men fall in love
where do they fall from?
do they gain or do they shrink
what do they become?

ego has the eyes of reason
heart but is all blind
long as such you've trained yourself
thus love you cannot find

why must you tolerate
a bland mere existence
and prolong yourself till
death tries out your patience

you have done the same so far
tell me what's come of it
you still wont know what life means
something you must admit

if someone asks what life does mean
know well he lacks in love
it is the goal and reason for bliss
in each moment thereof

if someone loves, he need not ask
the meaning is right there
it encompasses all throughout
and nothing remains to spare

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

talisman of love - truth of being**

do you see the truth in what
all that i have said?
do you feel the flow of love
or feel in grave instead?

do you feel it in your veins
or has your heart ceased
do you not see truth of being
in each and every piece

enter the enlightened kingdom
rising on the ray of love
when truth is to be known but
your love is to be felt of

one which reaps poison and nectar
you're really just that plant
to die by hate and bloom with love
in times heavens did grant

"i always love" you might say
i say you rarely do
you say that you still long for love
i find this childish too

you just throw this bait of love
not for the fish to eat
but to feed your egos on
a trader's two way street

to love and to need love
are two so different things
whoever wants love suffers
for beggars own nothing

it can only be given
not bought or bartered with
with money joy cant be owned
for sure it's all a myth

the path is not in sky
in your heart it lies
thus spake lord Buddha
a truth so plain and wise
talisman of love (epilogue) -

for ones who live with love
so calm do they remain
amidst all praise and blame
like eye of a hurricane

for never does the hatred cease
by hatred here below
for hatred does cease by love
this is eternal law

hinting a life of dreams,

is there a reason why dreamy voices spill out
of every breathless breeze tracing
the mystery of her fragrance?

what causes the moon to yell its name into

permeating my desires?

why does the sun set fire to the tranquil sea
whenever her eyes shimmer down to
daring depths of allure?

where does the beckoning rhythm of gentle chaos
lead into a pool of humble familiarity
drenched in swirls of art?

why do cold nights whisper her prayers while lullabies
sing to the rolling raindrops upon eyes
in a season of romance?

how does the turbid murkiness of her silence
shake my soul as raging roaring tides
wrapped around a noise of lies?

when do scared footsteps of gripping regrets mould
a future laid upon mortified ashes
as snowflakes lost in blizzards?

and above all..

how does it all end for the both of us?

frolicking amidst solemn tranquil stars
shiny bright on the celestial parapet

the mortals named her moon

and furnished their barren lives with
colorless spread of her golden hair
traced along the milky laugh of joy
kissing tender skins of lovers asleep

but pinched upon by shores of neglect

lay the boiling heart of a forgotten god
leaning into the envious whispers of venomous deceit
sprung out of flaming ego of the great sun
overpowered by hate for his adversary

and the grand ocean who birthed her

so he raged upon like a nebulous explosion
drying up colossal seas and rivulets alike
while mortals bore the brunt of a deity
beneath all fiery blunders of infernal damnation

they all gazed in horror

to what became of once cerulean infinite ocean
now a volatile geyser of bloodied soup
a serene cradle of life incinerated by jealousy
amidst the dying cries of mercy

laid upon the ears of great mother

who rushed to her frightened children like
an avalanche of uplifting spells
as solace from the obliviating torrents of heat
above a crumbling earth

veiled in her merciful majesty

she called upon a parliament of beasts and men
starry denizens of the shivery black sky
ghostly natives of burning forests
restless roses of ashen hearts

as so were they all summoned

"for all ye did defile
with strength i lend to thee
reduce to shadow dust
spread thy cruelty
dispel a coat of fire
upon my hallowed sea
betray the rule of stars
but so mercilessly

for 'gainst the eye of war
ye sinned with hateful fright
and shall be doomed to hell
till life's last surmise
but if there be some more
ye need to speak awhile
speak aloud thee must
for this be thy time"

and so the mighty sun bared his heart

"for if i had a choice
sin i shall again
to breathe a demon's soul
engrossed with deathly pain

as when i saw her first
the light of purest love
allure of million songs
beaming anthems of

poetry set in sight
in fountains of her sleep
amid the faintest wish
of day we two shall meet

i ran and ran across
the length of starlit skies
in search of moon again
her burnished sheeny smile

only to learn the sea
would mask her in the day
in frigid soundless depths
until i fade away

spiralled across the space
i burnt to nothingness
a billion years in wait
perished to longingness

for choice was what i had
i chose to hate the world
one that does have no heart
one that does know no love

for if i had a choice
sin i shall again
just as the ocean sinned
and bring my soul this pain"

seeking out for the shattered cascades of his mind

the great mother did reach to the floundering soul
of a sun craving for one more sight of his beloved
all so distant as a tale of treasures lost
to the perpetual labyrinth of time

"of what shall thus be named
the blush of myriad glows
beneath the noble day
before the nights of pure

let there be a spell
where sun may see the moon
chisel his heart through clouds
scroll upon his tune

a time where them two shall
be one as dew and morn
ripple across as love
through dusky silhouettes long"

sweet scents of eager hope resurfaced

followed by the serene lush of a green symphony once more
while the sun bent down to touch the topaz glint of water
his beloved emerged riding upon whistling winds from east
once more piercing the restless swell of dreamy clouds

and just as day sank below a border of horizon
two lovers soared into the dreamy sight of each other
for hues of their daring glances tinge every twilight
again with a dream to have their love fulfilled

every day until the end of time.

it refuses to leave
a lashing soaring tide
the frozen etch of past
on ripples of my mind

the shattered reverie
forged into scripted moves
fading out as weeks
yet vivid i assume

which mirrors as a rift
between the sea of love
sandwiched reluctantly
with turgid smiles of

a pair of sunken hearts
dissected by the world
be lost unto our fate
as oceans conceal pearls

across the breadth of life
by breed of hailing wise
who pompously reject
shackle our maiden flight

constrain the gayle till dawn
repress the blooms of time
yet shadowed by romance
still dream along shall i

behope a spring of sun
which fills this yawning void
behold the scents of spring
beneath your cursive smile

to wait upon a day
yearning for misty greens
dressed up in coils of love
until eternity

to ooze a sight of heaven
to bleed a laugh again
even as stale horizons
fervently await

a day which breathes upon
brilliance of tranquil nights
surround a whirl of stars
and kiss our florid sky

as bristling autumns flow
from her dreamy eyes

man who moved the mountain
tranquil Nov 2013
there was once a man who lived
in burnt rocky hills
village farmer frail and tilt
humble down to strips

and one day his wife fell sick
he took her in his hands
but in path for miles thick
one huge hill did stand

he knew but closest path to town
would take whole day on foot
if it weren't this hill around
get there sooner he could

even though he tried his best
kept his faith alive
yet he failed the time's test
could not save his wife

abruptly in his mind
did one thought arise
through conflicting reasons
to himself he surmised

"there'll always be dreams to live
tears to wipe, things to moan
to witness coiling stillness give
reason to your lonesome tone"

with this thought himself he backed
and let go of his fears
whom neither Gods could distract
he faced the mountain near

a modest hammer in hand
not for once dismayed
unfazed by its candid stand
he stood not once afraid

"for he was just some lunatic
who sold his goats for a chisel
for no man can do such trick
surely its all such drivel"

inch by inch he chipped away
just one stroke a time
when scorching sun endowed the day
heat fueled up his mind

seasons came and seasons went
men who mocked him too
turned to dust who crossed his way
yet he went going through

long before his life would cease
two decades marked his trial
all in sweat on forehead crease
and scratched on time's dial

and then arrived this moment
it surely had to come
for in pools of anguish spent
lilies of faith bear from

speak your will and do your speak
says the farmer's life
say you're strong when you feel weak
marching through your strife

for no paths does life forbid
it takes no account
keep on moving as he did

Dashrath Manjhi (1934- 2007) was born into a poor laborer family in Gahlour village near Gaya in state of Bihar, India.

Dashrath Manjhi's wife, Falguni Devi, died due to lack of medical treatment because the nearest town with a doctor was 70 kilometres (43 miles) away from their village. The villagers had to travel all this distance to reach the nearest town, due to the path blocked by a rocky hill.

Dashrath did not want anyone else to suffer the same fate as his wife, so he carved a one kilometer long and 16 feet wide cleft in the hill to form a road through a mountain in the Gehlour hills, working day and night for 22 years from 1960 to 1982.

He did this single handedly only with a rope, chisel and a hammer.

His feat reduced the distance between the Atri and Wazirganj blocks of the Gaya district from 75 km to 1 km, bringing him national acclaim.

He died on August 17, 2007. He was given a state funeral by the government of the state of Bihar.

the root of sea is dead
our sky is still unreal
which deep it may reside
your parching gentle tear

a rain of sleepy draught
on cheeks of silky night
in blush of coyness thin
we start a fresh new life

a life same as we dreamed
now born in lap of time
in cradle of our love
as blooming summers prime

as nursed by tender joys
sweeping as twilight red
echoed by tranquil breeze
in arms of roses spread

scrambled and lost tonight
brood over freshest hues
amidst gleeful snugness
we kiss our moment true

may million pains which shall
try douse and dim this flame
or crawling creep our souls
spread foul revolt our faith

let them brew up a storm
summon a herd of beasts
while world fogs out our day
remember darling please

still smiling down a sky
to see me buried in
fathomless caramel eyes

and once to have your hand
to live in through your dream
not even once let go
to melt into your being

or reason with our scheme

if it were the last of them
the stream of endless years
if we ruled the last of them
holy stalwart spheres

had it been a motionless
disguise of fantasy
a spin of modest voidness

had it been the last of it
the sooty pangs of love
if it were the final lie
of all intolerables

of all it is and what was not
that none shall ever be
a dream of burnished glossy hearts
in love eternally

only if i had her close
as hope clings onto fright
as drowning bodies hang onto
a ruinous ocean tide

a word or two could restitute
the stolen bliss of old
as flames of dying stars in sky
in stories left untold

for slopey graves of trailing night
wailing eat such souls
breaking journeys as a breath
sweeping take control

of minds which peer into dark
longing a rosy dawn
reeling under a shadow breath
float away be gone

you saw into my dreams
through brooding crypts of time

victims of love denied
through beckoning ordeal
whatever may betide

you peeked into my strength
and all into my pride
through dusty shelves of old
regrets as steeple high

to put me in a rut
witnessed by falling skies
wetted by tears of joy
and parched with breeze of lies

for its a choice you shall

dare touch your blooming lips

may trade a soul for love

in the tiniest house of time
i go and search for her
amid a strike of midnight chimes
neither souls infer

in that little house i live
with fate which He ordained
for what once has gone from it
none can be regained

infinite is thy mansion lord
what faithful men do seek
walk upon time's narrow sword
on years which seasons leap

beneath sky's golden canopy
as wind winds round my neck
with a look into your eyes i feel
your breath inside my breath

into the horizon where all immerse
i've reached the brink of eternity
see all fearless slumbers disburse
into your singular immensity

see how empty lives drown
into your ocean grand
while the gulfs all wash me down
i await your touch of hand
