tranquility
tom krutilla Dec 2014
the tranquility of the night is set upon me
the calm air lingers, the last soft note of mozart
harboring the scattered light of stars
my wandering mind just stares, connecting the dots
the softness of your touch, impales my heart
your siren whispers infitrate my thoughts
the weakening of my body, surrenders to you
and my murmers, only you can understand
lay your head on my chest, arms around me
let us make our own dreams

exhustion sets is, from the heavy daily toll
the eyes are sleepy, each step is slow
the body stiffens, bending over to untie the shoes
toes touching carpet, soft, another day is through
streched on the sofa, blood rushing to a calm
the mind turns of the noise, only quiet is the sound
amen

the gift of you
tom krutilla Dec 2014
such that it is, the pure sounds
the genius of music men
that captures my thoughts
trying to pen my love for you
you've become more beautiful
with each earthly step you take
in awe, I surrender to you
do not blush, when I bestow
my heart upon you
for I give it completely
do as you may with it
wash it clean of sins, ****** it
feel the warmth in your hands
I know my ramblings seem
scattered, such is crazed love
but you will gather them up
corral them in your mind
knowing the gift of you
is my heaven on earth

tomorrows hope
tom krutilla Nov 2014
Oh the raven, that taunts me
clutching the heart he stole
circle above me, his cawing so bold
go ahead, try to intice my soul
your taunts are futile, I feel no more

this aloneness  is real, my comfort zone
no daggers to pierce me, just a silent groan
there are no litmus test to prove me
am I right or am I wrong
or that stamp upon my head, that I belong

perhaps tomorrow will be a better day
the gray will finally fade
I'll start all over, again, this time
search for anything to fill the lines
of long standing questions in my mine

waiting for the moon, to peak, just over the horizon
illuminates, a soft glow upon fair maidens, dancing,
their flowing figures flicker, as if gentile flames of love
intice a young man thoughts of dubious, idle threats
the twilight of summer, surrenders, coolness of autumn
sturdy trees shed their leaves, stand naked, for all to see
the romantic breeze plays notes of colorful melodys
each one, a pretty song for the months gone by
do I recollect them, in an out of tune voice?
or keep them in my memories, for future rejoice?

can I say of the words in the distant past
my Claire,
that sweet, caressing voice of memories last
are the elixirs that warm a sadden heart

talk to exahaustion, collapse into my arms
my Claire,
we sprawl onto the floor, I steal your charms
are the elixirs that warm a sadden heart

depression's lament
tom krutilla Nov 2014
perched upon the eave, the robin gives his speech
can't decipher what language he speaks
pull the covers off my face, feel the light of the day
try hard to wrench this body, from this bed I lay
but it all comes crashing down, in this whirlpool
I drown, in this swirling emptyness I found
all these sentimental breakdowns, leave me weak
to carry on

will I ever come close to what I felt so long ago
when my smile was broad, and full of hope
or am I stuck in time, fighting the villans and clowns
surrendering to their laughing sounds

Then the night falls, and the cold winds
blow your whispers away
try to catch just one, to savior in my head
but my hands froze instead
we tryed to compromise, a hardy give and take
there was no middle, just the divide you made

the restlees heart , you posses
that passion won't rest
till the colors of your portrait is set
and you rise above the rest

such a burden, you've endured
leave us now, leave us later
twisting in the wind of your mind
you have no cure, uncertaintly for sure

so have another taste, sip another sip
don't be afraid to blink, its not yours to
think of what you might have missed
the past you've already dismissed

Shall I tempt you this night
with the grinning moonlight
silhouetting leaveless trees
flailing in the breeze

sprinkled across the sky
a billion star eyes
tally the winks they emit

silently ponder nature's picture
lets peel it back, take a peek
at what's beyond

run wild with anticipation
find answers to the question
then question why
and wait for a reply

your tender touch massage my dreams yet told
how dare you kiss me with lips so bold
knowing these feelings for you I gave from the start

I know of a place, where we both can hide
far away from the snears of prying eyes

sadness comes from the emotions draining
a bloodletting of the hearts vibrant beat
the brains circuitry in over load, fighting
the positives and negatives, trying to find
the perfect path of sanity

as an aging man, I have known these feelings
a lifetime of questions, still to be answered
then unexpectedly, a simple word, I realize

remembering the past and all it's worth
what brought me here, is now understood
I have dragged all the stones of life I carved
laid them perfectly, in symmetrical order
built my pyramid, stood back in awe at
all that I've accomplished, smiled and rested
then asked, in a thousand years will it all
matter?

If I had but one original thought to say
guess I'd be, I love you in everyway
but I was chasing the shadows of love today
each one getting longer,in the dusk of day

nightfalls, I am thrown into this abyss
wanting the new, remembering what I miss
all that came before me, seems like a myth
discard them to my empty hearts pit

my memories invade my pathetic senses
as if your that historical artifact, to be found
If I can dig deep, sweep away the timeless dirt
wash it till its anew, display it once again
perhaps, this time, it can withstand another

adieu

wonder were your off to, on you new found path
hope the ground below is softer, than your wrath
it took all my senses, to finally find
that I was not the one, who was blind
so this reoccuring theme, I shall define

another glass of wine, wont change my mine

like an emotional sponge, I soak up your words
to clean and relieve you from all those swords
letting you know, I'm here for you, and move forward
but your eyes said no! I'm still bored
you always live your life on your own accord

another glass of wine wont change my mind

so now I'll bid my fondest adieu
let you find your real you
as you walk beyond me, out of view
hope the memories wont go askew
of all the times I kept loving you

in rythms of incoherant sync, listen closely, the voice

in the shadows, full of grace, glowing eyes, lead astray
watching with intent, never a murmer, wasting time

may the purest of waters, cascade upon you
wash away the impurities you percive to be
take that cloth, dab them away
look in the mirror, admire the soft glow of you

some singular moment, or collection of such
should not impede, or dim that light
let the losers and cowards speak their words
they are fraught with grief, guilt, wrong turns

their pathetic lives needs a scapegoat
your just fresh meat to feast on
like a good servant, you tend to their needs
doing your best to please
then suddenly you found the control switch
and nervously turn it off

a new awakening begins in your *****
you have risen from the depths of despair
turn away, close that door
and breathe the vibrant air

such words, I must admit, have lingered in my mind
these peering eyes, watch closely, not ready to say

thinking of the why question, and the what
if, roll the ball down the alley, oops

wondering what your doing tonight
pouring over those pictures again?
rearrange them from left to right
remind yourself that was then

another sip won't cure anything
numbing myself is fruitless agony

now you confirm, you were'nt too sure
if your choice was forever
you found out late there was no cure
as you move on for something better

wondering were it went wrong
questioning everything but me
realize its forever, and forever is long

Sculping the trophy
tom krutilla Sep 2014
as you sculp me to your liking
trim the rough edges smooth
crush the shavings to fine dust
brush them to the corner
to make me perfect, will fill the room

then when this trophy is polished
to the brightest sheen, insert that
magic coin, so I utter the right words
for your reputation you need to uphold

this charade I'll play, my heart is yours
I'll play the fool, in hopes you love me

but too much brightness, can blind
reaching out, confuse the mind
when dullness sets in, erodes the shine
your yawns come frequent, start to pine
for the next subject in your long line

remember this, as you discard me
the vengence is all mine

some crazy dream
tom krutilla Sep 2014
just outside the city lines, bout half mile down
stands the old stucture, guiding folks to town
legend says its an arch, pass under it to be free
my thoughts are still pending, not sure to believe
the sun sets early now, as we say good bye to summer
Its shadow seems longer now, least I remember
the people welcome in the fall, the season of colors
the crispness of the air, cleanse the summer druthers
It seems to stand guard, firmly gripping the ground
the people amass and gather round
could it be an ancient stargate, from a forgotten time
built to keep the human race in a lockstep line
now if you look closely, where it bends and streches
the fading words still spells its message
welcome all you strangers and old friends alike
relax, take care, hope you stay awhile

we found ourselves on differant courses
and with each turn of the world we'll meet
