The chill of the wind blows with a heavy heart tonight
I try to shutter it out yet it still leaks through
Ashes from the fireplace scattered amongst the floor
Alone again with moisten eyes
Yet I am not ready to say goodnight
The night eyes want to tell more
As I listen there's nothing new
Just a memory of a kiss goodbye
So I crop the grass make it neat
There's no need for water my tears
Provide plenty
I can hear you chuckle when I try to rise
But if rather fall forward to you
Then be upright alone trying to dodge
Life
