The man of life upright, whose guiltless heart is free
From all dishonest deeds and thoughts of vanity:
The man whose silent days in harmless joys are spent,
Whom hopes cannot delude, nor fortune discontent;
That man needs neither towers nor armor for defense,
Nor secret vaults to fly from thunder's violence:
He only can behold with unaffrighted eyes
The horrors of the deep and terrors of the skies;
Thus scorning all the care that fate or fortune brings,
He makes the heaven his book, his wisdom heavenly things;
Good thoughts his only friends, his wealth a well-spent age,
The earth his sober inn and quiet pilgrimage.
Poems are little
Snippets
Of what goes on
In one’s mind

Poems are made of
Short
Lines
Preferably those
That rhyme

Poems can be
Shallow
About the little things
Happening on
The surface

Poems can be
Deep
About the fractured thoughts
Underneath a
Painted smile

Poems can be silly
Full of fun
And laughter

Poems can be serious
Filled to the brim
With melancholy

Poems can be happy
A world of sunshine
Rainbows
And all things nice

Poems can be sad
Raining with tears
Peppered with sighs
And others that are not that
Nice

Poems depend
On their creators
To give them
That special touch
That special identity
To who you are
To what you really
Think and feel

Don't you see all the flowers planted
Don't you see the garden is undoubtedly enchanted
Don't you see it's beauty is fading
Don't you see the weeds pervading?

We are taught to be the seeds escaping
The ones running in wind evading and draping
Don't you see the rain pouring
Don't you see what it's washing and scraping ?

It's a raging fire
Burning and uncontrollably alluring
Don't you see it's contagious
Don't you see it's completely outrageous?

Don't you see?
We are all undeniably blind
A bunch of creatures in a place so confined.

A little girl is bored
Hugging a Teddy bear as tall as her
At the airport the flight is delayed
Teddy and girl are glued together
Very intimate relationship
between the girl and her Teddy..
Couldn't help myself to ask
"Do you love your teddy?"
"So much" She answered hiding her face
in between Teddy's ears...
" How much love" I asked again
and offered her ice-cream
She took the ice-cream..
hid her face in Teddy's belly
and shouted Very! Very!
I smiled at her and asked again
Wanted to know her concept of love
"Does Teddy loves you?"
YES! she said spontaneously and NO! she said after a second
"I dont know" she said now...
"Teddy never said he loves me"
Then how do you know he loves you?
Provoked this little girl's thinking...
She did give a deeper thought
when lastly she said...
"Teddy doesn't say he loves me
but Teddy stays"
"Teddy is silent
so I will love him more.."
So Teddy 's love is silent?
She nodded and kissed her Teddy...
I am amazed ....
of this little girl's brilliant thinking..
She understands love so much..
Love is love, you don't even need to say..
Your presence says... Your loyalty counts...
in this little girl's eyes
Teddy's Love is always there ..
you don't have to shout it loud..
I LOVE YOU is tender word
say it in silent...

One and one are always two, and two and two makes four, so

who said that three was more than two, and less by one than four?

who said the bird was on the wing, who told you names of everything?

who told you this and that was true, you just accepted didn’t you?

So, the sky is there above your head, the ground is where your feet do tread,

the dog, the cat, the horse, the mouse, the car, the bus, the street, the house,

all have names you learn quite young, your voice doth talk, you sing and you’ve sung

of all the knowledge gained to pass on, Who told it first, Who was the first one?

Up, down, all around,
Twirling, whirling, blurs of sound,
Din of colours, clashing loud,

Speed rushing,
Time pulling,
Air flowing,

Gliding upwards,
Sky so blue,
Flying downwards,
See you soon,

Laughter floating all around,
Scents dancing home from town,

Pink clouds sold on sticks,
Enchanted by magic tricks,

Music falling to the ground,
Happiness all around.
Might I say, without appearing too proud, that I am sincerely pleased with how this turned out?

Please leave good comments, with helpful, constructive criticism.

I found my place in words
In which my soul is my metaphor
I choose to weave into verbs
I place my heart into the curves of assonance
to be guarded by the halting walls of alliteration
until their sentence has ended.
At one time being confined by
the simplest of minds, I
 released them in time, I
pleased them with rhymes
and became lost, then found
different meanings to old letters
taking simple elementary phrases and making them better
and then I finally found myself.
Somewhere against this world
I found my place in words.

Some years from present
There will be a time
When his reign ceases
And thus begins mine
His authority depleted
His tyranny no longer
His shameful crown
Retired to it's alter
On distant soil
There is a place
Eased from tensions, woe, and mistake
On countryside fair there is a castle
Lacking gallows, threats, chains, and shackles
All is mine and mine to rule
By god I swear I'll prove no fool
I'll redeem my name on the morrow
A righteous name again, forgetting sorrows
My kingdom will not be like his
The sun will shine where once was mist
On a difficult adventure I will embark
To bring light where once was dark
With heirs seated on my left and right
They shall be evidence to the break of night
By oath one day I'll climb that peak
I'll march every valley, hill and creek
The time may be far but my dreams are not
So I shall retire to those
Since the fight has already been fought.

TearsOfChronus
Through many nights of unsound sleep
I've heard you say my name
You held your hand out through the haze
And whispered
"Come and find me..."
Your invitation woke in me
The hurt to hold out hope
You've ruined me,
Stole all from me,
And I have always loved you.
If I could take away the nights
I longed to touch your hands
Or smell your hair
Or hear your laugh
Or know you missed me too
I would.
You took my very confidence,
Walked away with all my pride
Doused my trust and struck a match
Reduced my faith to cinders.
Your love was never really mine,
Those sparks alive inside your eyes
Told me I was not enough
Impressions all re-told, relayed
And carved into the hands I hold
Fists I clench ask I stay brave
Despite the truth I thought I'd stayed
Bid farewell and walked away
I've hated every single day
I thought your eyes were mine
But found out later lied at times
And left me in a state of stupor
Stayed up late refreshing thoughts
In hopes I'd see you one life sooner
Not have to wait another chapter
You spin your story, yet another,
I'd found all endings through my lovers
The ones I've loved in living matter
In skin and bone and days forever,
Not dreams that lived through dying embers,
Fantasies of youthful slumbers
Our dreams were worthy of remembering
Days spent in September, singing,
Laughing like our youths together
Holding hands, through frightened fetters
Hearts and promises were breaking
As I recall, the air was heavy
Thick with quaint and distant longing
Brought my blood to painful burning,
Exalted fears to basic yearning,
Turned away, last second learning,
Tears in eyes tore me asunder
Brought me to my lowest standing
I can't afford to be so petty
Perdition's path turned me astray
That road was ours to walk together
But we got lost along the way
Our paths will cross again, I wager
But not the way we walked before
I've learned to trust my loss and anger
The pain is weakness leaving me
Reminders grief was all worth feeling
Wisdom that to life there's more
I have mine and you have yours
Your boy, my words, these bonds are precious
Like soothing rain that stops the storm
Like distant clouds on the horizon
Like winds that settle change's roar
I left our memories on the shore

I've walked away, I'm hurt no more
I've left your memories on the shore

Distraction

Finding distractions throughout
the day is far too easy.
There's work to do,
coffees to sip,
conversations to be had.
Afternoons are simple.
It's the constant 3 AM
battles that destroy us.
We're left defenseless
in the dark, with
nothing to keep us busy.
We find ourselves alone
and lose ourselves in
binding thoughts, wishing
more than ever that
we said all the things
that we were too scared
to admit.
