Angulation (Etheree)
Timothy Brown Mar 2014
At
the end
of a busy
intersection
perpendicular
from where I was standing
I could see sun reflecting
off auburn hair and a green dress.
and the wind carried a scent of sweet
honey, vanilla lotion and Jasmine
An Etheree is a 10 line poem wherein each line contains the number of syllables corresponding to that line.

Lime-Green Duct Tape
Timothy Brown Feb 2013
I tore it down
All of it
Everything that resembled Mr. Brown

His clothes are in trash bags
The decor in pieces
Desecrated all of his flags

"Mr. Brown, don't ever show your face around,
or I'll put you in a coffin." I said
He looked confused as I pronounced Bob Marley lyrics in a way profound

" I do not blame you, but myself,
for the day you came in
I put my soul on a shelf"

"You are contorted and misconstrued
there is nothing but darkness
in the life around you"

He seethed with fury.
The kind I had when I was a child
He spoke shortly, yet with a dramatic flurry.

" You may send me away," he spat
I tried to contain my fear
"But you know as well as I do, I'll return and it won't be for a chat"

A sudden calm washed over me.
And I said with a devious smile
"Last time I let you. The next time I won't let be"

His coal black eyes perfectly matched his mouth; agape
as he stood stunned. A painting of disbelief.
I escorted him to the exit and sealed it with duct tape

monotony. Standing in line, at the end,
until the begin

...ing.
Pretending, that was doing something.
Like a verb, perturbing, unsettling.
Cold air is causing nerve ending

...up. Back of the neck rub
Trapped like a spider in a covered tub.
Seems wide till the world opens wide and there's a snub
from the passing yacht club as it crashes into the hub.
Now aren't you glad you got grub instead of a ticket

Hop on the bed, called Dr. Suess' pop.
Lets swap places. Straighten the tie, I am a flop

Timothy Brown Dec 2014
It was a gathering where emotions murmured
into an answering call for devotion.
Where locked gazes and dilated pupils
mirrored the endless churning of the sea.
The sensation of their very presence
was an euphoric dance that was devised
by the most magnificent of choreographers.
The purpose of this meeting was simple;
It was to be a discussion of plans.
It turned into a
blueprint for the future.
It was your kiss
It was my rapture.

Irony
Timothy Brown May 2013
She came to my door, tears streaming down her face.
In her blabbering, she only spoke six words clearly,
"I don't belong in this place"

As I led her inside
I noticed the blood streaming down her wrist
I cut my sentence short and replied

Silence and ice cream
Same thing I got when I tried to hang out.
At the bottom of the bowl I saw her face gleam.

We hadn't spoke since she spat "******"
As our connection  leaked into the air,
I whispered "murderer"

As she lay leaking through band-aids and bandages
The red made me think of love
and how the feeling of hate has it's balances

Reciepts
Timothy Brown Jan 2013
My life is well documented
on thin strips of paper
usually thrown in a trash bin.
My attachments
are well preserved
in a thin sheet of ice
covering an overflowing trash bin.
So when its time for taxes
I thaw out the bin
and re-record the trail
of 20's and 40's
60's and 80's
pulled from my account of time been in passing
I shake my head and laugh
at the time I spent trying to change the end
to Tuck Everlasting
Knowing now that when you tucked me in
it was to say goodnight,
not good-morning.
A foreshadow that you would be passing
and I would be lasting.
I've crunched the numbers
made the deductions
and came out with a lengthy profit.
Thanks to the money I've invested
in being possessed,
with the best
intentions,
paying attention to you
So when I file my W-2's,
I can do them with a smile knowing
I never wasted a dime on you.

Diamonds
Timothy Brown Nov 2012
You and I are cut from the same stone.
Diamond.
The extreme pressure we face gives us our shape
our sparkle
our shine
And our formation
reduces the common denomination
of things that can affect us.
The things that do penetrate
within us, permeate.
Revolve around our universe,
Dictating our hue.
We may appear blue
or red or yellow but deep down
Our own imperfections define us,
which is why we are Brown.
While we have different varieties
Only one thing can destroy us
decisively.
Diamond.
Caroline. You, like I, are your own greatest enemy.

Emptiness within my body
Forgoes the exuberance
Gathered on the surface.

Level worlds,
Monopolize hearts,
Negate negativity,
Omitted from the explicit.

Rinse
Repeat
A simple man, trapped by society,
Raised to feel indebted to his family
His fantasy is printed and framed
Above the job's lobby. A beautiful
Scene of the mountains in Nagasaki.
The clear air clears the clouds
Of the the solvent factory
So he sits and stares
Ever unsure of his trajectory.
Rinse
Repeat
The quality of his life is priced
At $4.50. If he can't get his fix
Of burritos and churro sticks,
His world turns to bricks.
His grip slips.
The slight weight shift on his hips
Strips his exuberant demeanor
Like a lunar eclipse.
Rinse
Repeat
When he tries to adlib the script,
Life and love kicks him in the intelligence.
His happiness doesn't take precedence
Over the dead presidents he needs
To keep his residence. It's evident
In his directionless aggressiveness,
He feels irrelevant to his existence.
So, he slows the pistons of his brilliance.
Rinse
Repeat
His silence has made him forget his presence
He's become convinced that washing metal prints
Isn't against his will. That the fulfill-
Ment of another's vision is the pill
To his sickness. Like the use of litmus
Will heal his mental limpness
Between 9 and 5. The only thoughts
He completes are *rinse
and *repeat

My little piece of security,
hiding me
from the monsters under my bed.

Every single thread
with love have has been fed
as every night we cuddle.

When my head is in a muddle
or the storms make me huddle,
my blanket is by my side.

There's been so many tears it's dried.
In my best dreams, it was the guide.
It is wonderfully soft and soothing.

On rainy days it's uplifting.
When my world's ending , it's encouraging.
That's why I'll always love my blankie!

Broken Knees
Timothy Brown Mar 2013
I am experiencing a problem with my poetry
I do not know what my next step will be
Wobbly

Stumbling

over syllables and web pages
I am shaking and vibrating
Spot light is blinding
on life's stages
I keep forgetting my lines
So I speak of shoe laces
in leveled metaphors
and the look of their flesh cases was ageless
Yet, I can't stand their faces

Not on this or that knee

It is anxiety
I thought it was mild but its becoming severely
annoying. Faults and fractures
flake my stature
like bark from a tree

Just start running

Evading
Something I do not want to face
Slave trading, soul maiming
while their raiding
I am hidden in the shading
of planets in space
We're all black in this place
No superiority nor disgrace
Just aiding
the next broken person
so they can have a chance in the race.
This is a poem about writer's block. Until I am ready to face my next inner challenge my poetry will suffer. I notice it suffering now.

Fan letters filled with hawk feathers.
Sticking them in paper like
Razor blades into wrists.
Drawing life from the abyss;
Weatherman predicts clouds
And rain.

Gray and
Grains in the camera; Dharma, I
And Karma took the photo
Of the millennia. Deep in the Congo
Jungle, we stumbled  across a tribal
Ensemble praising Pluto.

Smoke rising from the tribunal pyre.
Through the moonlight you could see the
Galaxy swirling with each gust.

Their lack of attire made their skin shine
Brilliantly in the dark reflections of the fire.
The sweat. The song. The symmetry. The immensity
Of it all was entrancing. We dived into the celebration of
Existence  with little regard of our path.
It was a step forward we'll never take back.

There are many lessons to learn

She always knows
She always knows what to do
I'm glad she's just a friend
and doesn't know the crew

I never tell her my story
She reads every page herself
She never touches the exhibits
the essences of me
elegantly
arranged upon the shelves

She always knows
She always knows what to do
I'm glad shes just a friend
and never knew the crew

She paces in silence
Slight smirk under her eyes
As she wanders around my gallery
galaxies
analogies of abnormal realities
Seen from within the guise

She always knows
She always knows what to do
I'm glad she's just a friend
And will never know the crew

Every so often she pauses
Her footsteps resound
The curator looks up interested
and solicited
a reaction uninhibited
From a mind profound

She always knows
She always knows what to do
I'm glad she's just a friend
And doesn't want to know the crew

Her analysis is always unique
And as if she was the artist
The curator thinks, in retrospect
she is correct.
As she walks out the exit
Her path is marked by a trail of stardust.

She always knows
She always knows what to do
I'm glad she's just a friend
And is unknown to the crew
Differentiating between the cracks and folds of my mind.

Arizona Ice tea
Pixie sticks
Chocolate and nougat.
You always had something to sell me.

Bumped up a quarter from the price at the store
You were alone while others traveled in pairs.
I could hear you running up the stairs.
Somehow your soccer ball would always hit my door.

Seven is supposed to be a lucky number
Ebay, what you got for me today?
I would say.
50 cents for candy lumber!

Maybe if I played with you that day.
You could be sitting here typing.
No tears on your face for wiping.
Could be that bullet never went astray.

How can people be so evil?
why?
A seven year old shouldn't know how to die.
I shouldn't be experiencing this emotional upheaval
I can still hear the silence after your last wail in my dreams.

Picked up a little spark
out the corner of my shut eyelid.

Such a weird emission in this charcoal dark.
It began a faint glow.
Slightly brighter than the black
above, beside and below.
Then the glow became a hum
of violet and gradually grew
into a blue.

That color, so serene,
became a green  and its vibrations
were quite intense. Just like in the earth
out of the green, with a little help from it's blue fellow,
sprouted a most glorious shade of yellow!

I became intoxicated by this colorful spectrum,
drinking deeply of each color as if on some
florescent binge. When I had my my fill of this bouquet
out sprouted the orange and red.

They all danced in a kaleidoscopic
shuffle, shifting about like lovers
in a masquerade ball.
They would collide and waltz
twirl about each other with excellent grace
and then, in search of their original partner,
separate. Once the couples were reunited,
they took flight from my eyelids and slowly
but surely, in a most marvelous display,
everything returned to black as the colors faded away.

Hello, old friend
Timothy Brown Feb 2014
If I'm going to hell at least I'll meet the devil with a smiling face.
I'm not ashamed, disgraced nor will I try to plead my case.
I'll embrace my throne of fire and brimstone with the grace.
The cyclone of living mistakes I'll be shown will encase my soul.

Truth be told, I look forward to the torture.
My hands being torn asunder for the hearts I've plundered.
My tongue should get cut out because it's really a butcher.
My mind will lose its complexity because, really, that's the best of me
And I'll be babbling like the people on reality T.v.

A piece of me will be taken violently
and slowly I'll lose my serenity
Until I'm helplessly watching my insanity
destroy the lives of those I hold dearly
But don't pity me, I walked down this path willingly.

I find solace in accepting the malice.
It's sort of like walking through a dark forest;
at least I know there's darkness.
At least I know I'm hopeless
At least I know I'm honest
The silence of my screaming soul will leave Satan astonished.

Smoke leaving my lungs
is an excellent simile
expressing what this journey has become.
Benighted by forked tongues;
the whispers of the world mismatch
the ****** expressions I catch.
Trying to ****** a batch of moments
worthy of gloating to my opponents.
Enticing movement in their bowls
as their smiles turn to scowls.
Exhaling the growls of satisfaction
from a triple black hood.
Their actions run afoul of the good
in my soul, truth be told.
My mind is too cold.
My heart is too bold.
My being can't be controlled
by nonfactual statements.
I am standing adjacent to greatness
with no patience for the aimless.
My genius is hungry and their life is the waitress.
So gracious I'm weightless
with words  that are heinous, outrageous and shameless.
Yes, I'm saying it. I said it and I'll say it again.
I am the paper, the ink, the words and the pen.
You can't best this style unless your right within.
I'm alright whether I'm left in
My, your or their skin.
Lurking through dreams as if they were my possessions.
Haunting poetry globally with a potency that leaves
minds convulsing and hearts slain.
Be forewarned; The Ghost has returned again.
Been perfecting my style.

The spots represent galaxies.
An infinite world of possibilities.
Stars in space spaced by realities...

The spots represent a journey
within a world, constantly turning.
A mind doing the same thing
without an object to cling.

The spots represent gaps in commitment.
circling around the truth: orbit.
A reach inches short of it
A love that remains dormant.

The spots represent a mistake made

They met in a bottle neck
Mingling with Excitement and Regret.
As soon as their sights were set,
The gathering, they began to neglect.

He was awe struck by her rapture.
Every atom within her seemed to smile;
Something he had to manufacture,
Was a way to stay around her awhile.

To her, he was uncanny to the others.
The ones that tried to impress her attention.
When he first spoke her being shuddered.
Her heart hung on his word's suspension.

A simple hello is how it began.
She said it first while his brain
was still attempting to comprehend
how to approach this sweet woman.

The party disappeared
As the hours grew queer,
She offered him a ride home because of
the scent of breath in his beer
This has really become a beautiful story. I can't wait to share the rest of it with you all.

Staring into a stream.
splashing
Side by side; it gets no better.

Eyes blur so pictures
walk across the page.
Side by side; it gets no better.

Roof is collapsing.
Floor is sinking .
Side by side; it gets no better.

It's a birthday.
It's an un-birthday.
Side by side; it gets no better.

Living together
while alone.
Side by side; it gets no better.

Underneath the sun.
Underneath the moon.
Side by side; it gets no better.

Many happy returns to your days.
Many happy returns to your nights
Side by side; they will get better.
In which Eeyore has a birthday and receives two presents.

Mystery Cookie Note
Timothy Brown Apr 2013
I really want to be as cool as you
But I only have one tattoo
well two.
They're black, I'm brown but my jeans are blue...

You like them where the sun shines
and some places it won't.
I've stopped giving you signs.
I know. Anxiety daunt.

Birds sing while my face is buried in books;
Your stumbling up and down stairs and tumbling in your mind.
There is a disagreement but I know how good looks.
Inclined to be entwined where one may find the truth of mankind.
At least I want to be in there

But I am terrible with conversation.
You can see something is wrong with me.
I speak nervously in dilation.
My words are better read than said which is I write poetry.

It would be worst than the first rejection
So I'll admire you from afar.
Just an unspoken affection
to prevent the collision of worlds bizarre.

P.s This was supposed to come with a cookie but I ate it... I'm really sorry about that.
WBC day 3. Hint Hint. Wink Wink. Ahh forget it, shes probably not gonna read this.

Evil
Timothy Brown Oct 2013
We just can't be friends.
I don't like to pretend
that I am ok with you being within
my mind. I don't want you to be akin
to the despair and sin blanketing my skin.

It's not evil but the protection from it.
The confection of your innocence
with my affliction is one thing I'll forever
hold an objection to.

However this fantasy I hold
in your decency is something
hard to restrain. Your look and touch
dispel my agony. Like an act of banditry,
you rob me of my disdain.

Maybe it's your nature
to be nurturing.
Maybe it's the danger
bordering my being.
Maybe I should just ask you.

*I just know you don't deserve this mess
Pushing my inner fears to their limits.

Annoyed by the blatant lack of direction
Among my peers.  My college years
                                                            Are being spent disassociating myself

                                                            Importance.

Pushing
Timothy Brown Oct 2013
Every connection I make
I eventually break.
It's the fear of being inadequate
to someone's taste that causes me to
shiver and shake like ******-doo
I'm not the one that leaves, I make you.
It's really not your fault I want you to shoo
I really don't but I have an abandonment issue.
Its why I live alone and don't pursue romantic
interests. I sit around frantic as if the Atlantic
and Pacific, to be specific, were going to flood
the exact spot I sit in.

Too sick to think
Timothy Brown Nov 2012
Bed-ridden
with a grotesque taste
of mucus in my mouth.
Head hidden
beneath a wall of tissue.
I can't seem to clear my nose.
Aspirin given
in increments of 2x4.
My head is still pounding.
Fresh air forbidden.
I'm too weak to stand.
I'm too sick to think.

Bodies
Timothy Brown Jun 2013
They cast silhouettes of things
that don't exist within
but do exist within.
Oceans,
Bullpens ,
campfires and infernos
cast shadows of a self-made *****.
Inner-most desires
portrayed in stature.
The raindrops falling from cloudy skies.
A small town on a cliff.
The light of a cathedral.
The endless churning of the wind and sea
intertwined within one being.
We are made of flesh and bone.
Within us there is so much more.
So
much
more

Abysmal (Anthony)
Timothy Brown Jul 2013
Catapulted into a torrent.
Flung and spun
in an abhorrent pun

A flow of disease
oozes like melted ice-cream
over me in a breeze on a high beam.

It's disgusting
how you can sit with a smirk
and watch me combusting and ****.

Needless to say,
I just laughed at how karma cascades
cause the person you left me for that day gave you Aids.

Torches
Timothy Brown Dec 2012
Like fireflies, circling the torches on the porch.
Like moths, ebbing away at the soft cloth of clothes

It bugs me to know
Even more when you show
There is nothing I can do
To help you pull through

Like mosquitos, seven cylindrical mouths **** up several drops of blood
Like flies, frantically flapping flying ***** eaters

All the waste your handing
I'm handling
with my bare hands
There is only so much blood in a man's body

Dead skin soup
marination for the soul.
The longer it soaks, the more the skin droops.
More flavor for the porcelain bowl.
Seasoned with scrubs,  wash, and shampoo in the stoup.
Scrub hard, rise hot and watch the tainted drain down a black hole.

100 Acre Woods
Timothy Brown Nov 2012
In case you did not know,
there is a wonderful forest where the toys go.
Inside they bounce and play.
And live out their day.

My favorite people live here
even though they are not.
I visit them often,
with or without ***.

Honey and balloons.
Carrots and OCD.
bouncing tigers and roos
and pigs with anxiety.

Owls with terrible spelling
and wonderfully awful advice.
These are the things that comfort me
When the world isn't so nice..
I do not knw what "ther" means, Winnie-ther-Pooh. However I shall explain what you mean to me.
