We are rivers flowing down the Earth,
At day, at night - we carry on.
Engraving our path on stones and sand,
To greater oceans we descend.

Rain, storm and fury fill us up,
No time to ponder or give up.
Under the ice or burning heat,
We flow above or breathe beneath.

And rivers flow against the centuries and time,
And drowning sorrows, leaving all behind.
Some try to change our path and build another route,
But water only sharpens stone and goes about.
