sunshine

and clear eyes to see clearly
to pick up

the twigs
and branches

off the front lawn
of my neighbor's yard

unplanned

and good name

are all that I have
you have

let the images
play out in your mind

on my toothbrush

are ragged
and that's a fact

as well as my chipped tooth
that sometimes slices

my tongue

Though hard to judge
I feel you

are no longer close

as I see you fading in my
rearview mirror

now just a smudge
on a painted horizon

concepts

comfort

curiosity

responsibility

but in
instances like these
I can reconcile

with any inconsistencies
and see life

as ten frames of bowling

with strikes aplenty
