I used to think I knew the route,
The path our lives would take.
Just sit back, enjoy the ride,
Of predetermined fate.

I hoped we'd last forever,
I knew we'd make it last,
But one thing after another,
We could not stand steadfast.

I'd love to give us one more shot,
A chance for happiness.
Every little fault we had,
We’d defuse and then discuss.

There’s one thing still that worries me,
Just where would we settle down?
A world apart from East to West,
Could love turn this around?
This phenomenon does indeed
Circumvent logic and render the cliché
‘LOVE IS BLIND”….a defunct concept
Almost alien in societies replete with
People savouring the blows
Of emotional tug of wars.
It’s a thorn in the flesh…..
An enigma that’s so audacious
It dares defy the very essence of the human existence
Which undoubtedly is Human intellect
It surely does wreak sweet havoc
And leave in its wake
Irreversible destruction
Care not to be featured in its myriad “conquests
random reflections of a seemingly disgruntled soul

i wish you would write me
as i am
but you distort
every word
every expression
your mind is so warped
you look at me
like i'm a funhouse mirror
you see a misshapen reflection
of yourself

dearest,
remember
me.

it took you
a grand total of four days
to sew up your patchwork heart
pack your tatty suitcase,
ricochet off her like a purposed misfire
and attempt to lodge yourself into me.
four days seems about right...
took you four days to go from ME to HER
in the first place
good thing i took that target
off my chest
you'll be missing
this time.
