I'm so caught up in who's prettier than who and who has more friends;
I'm convinced that life is a popularity contest, and it needs to end.

I need to stop caring about how many likes I get on an Instagram picture;
And really start caring about how I see myself and making sure that's pure.

I feel like I need to compete for attention with the people I love most;
We shouldn't need to fight for the spotlight and when we lose feel like ghosts.

We are in the shadow of everyone else's success when we should be recognized for our own strengths;
We all go to the wildest point to make others happy, while going to the longest lengths.

I need to realize that I have a family and true friends who love me for me;
And I don't need 100 likes on a picture to tell me how I should be.
Everyone should take a step back and realize that people love you for who you are and what you achieve, it doesn't matter how popular or unpopular you are; all that matters is that if you're happy with yourself that's all that matters.
Pastel aqua waves of fate thrash upon a calm shore.
Silhouettes of rocky shadows stand above the horizon.
Within a sunset: anemic clouds gently prepare to soar,
As grains of sand glow like starlight from a tired sun...

A wondrous glimpse of hope sparks loudly within a thought:
Through ugly, grim days on earth, beauty still fights to stay.
A mystery sight to eyes seems to loosen up cruel knots,
And lift greatness to the earth with each brave waves sway.

Perhaps someone mirrors me on the other side of this ocean.
Inspiration fills my soul. I am a warrior prepared for life,
Yet when I awake from myself, I suddenly fear the motion,
With realization of this dream, my world is repainted strife.
Though we are not giants
We can reach across the world,
To touch the hearts of many
To step out and be bold

Did you know, as you see the pictures
They’re really peoples’ lives?
Not just faces; these children have
Real tears and real eyes

If we all can give a little
Our change can change the world,
One step at a time
We are nearing our goal

We can all make a difference
Greatness has no age or size,
It’s only what is in your heart,
That’s truly recognised

And though we are not giants
The world’s within our grasp,
For on each others’ shoulders
We can reach each others’ hearts
This is an old poem I wrote about four years ago,
(when i was about 13/14 years old) -
Just thought I'd share it...  :)
Every day I sit around
and wait for something
anything
to happen.
But all I ever do
is wait

wait

wait.

I must have to venture
somewhere
anywhere
to find what I am destined to be.
But I am content with my waiting.

I am in no hurry for greatness.

When it comes to me
someday
anyday
I might

no

will

be ready.

I'll have to be.
I am a dreamer
A pure dreamer
Surround myself with the believers
Still I find myself dreaming..
Surround myself with the thinkers...
I dream still of rhymes and unpublished poetry
Surround myself with the doers
Been bombarded with a question...
Is your life a poetry?
I am a dreamer.. yes
But I love to be with the doers, the believers and thinkers,
but most of all,
I surround myself with those
who speak the truth when they criticizes
so I could polish myself...
till I shine...
at least I could still learn...
humbly educate myself...
with the things I don't know
or unsure about...
I surround myself with those who see
the greatness within me,
when I myself  fail to see ....
I may be a dreamer
but nothing begins...
without first a dream.....
Like a bird with lost wings I need music to help me sing
Teach me to f l y
To run away
And I promise to return one day
I need you to untangle me
Free me of these rusty chains
Let the wind b l o w
And through the clouds we will g o
Flying away from are troubles
And out running time
Flying faster, and faster
Intill we can't go on
And again s o a r i n g toward dawn
Basking in the beatiful sunrise
I'm finally free
Because
My dear
you have untangled me.
Sometimes it pays to be hurt,
To suffer a broken heart
To be shut out of light
To cry through a long night.
Sometimes it pays to fail,
To suffer the ignominy of defeat
To be left with a broken sail
To make a glorious retreat.
Sometimes it pays to know,
From the endless race you ran,
Though suffering many a blow,
You emerged a stronger man.
The world burns mild while we burn wild rampant in love and static electric apathy. Tearing pages full of old words to right our own. The world is tired and the young are frustrated. Bombing streets fighting fascist old and fascist youths in teary longing for  compassion  for understanding that we are all one race. Furrowed brows over three longing eyes that cry we don't want to lose. Our future ******* in boxes and cubes. Trying to find the string to make the knot come loose. Revolting realities deem the devil true. Playing within vulnerable minds soaked in sand that won't sow a seed of love or truth. Awareness wasted on screens and glossy papers stomping pavement to fill our pockets with colored paper. Famished souls haunt spirits depressed without an inkling of insight as to why. The resolution is in love and in light. The love and enlightenment you share in your ever precious care. It spreads like a fever, grows like mold in hearts and the hands start to outstretch. Reaching in glory and happiness in an unseperate solitude. No one is stranger. No one is dead. Only confused and placid waiting for revival. Blind to what lingers behind the moon. The sun has already come and it thrives inside of
you
