The Clouds Above Were Gray And Sad,
The Ground Below, Chilled And Dying,
The Soul Of Summer Sunk Slowly Into The Soil,
As The River Cringed With The Presence Of Ice

The Sweet Songs Of The Sparrows Had Retreated,
Replaced By A Silence Which Hung Within The Trees,
And The Leaves Which Once Whispered In The Breeze,
Were Now Brittle And Brown, Recoiling On The Forest Floor

The Sun Stayed Hidden Throughout The Days,
Giving It's Much Needed Warmth To The Stars,
The Only Heat My Body Can Conjure Up,
Is That Of Which Was Generated By My Heart,
But It Too, Is A Victim Of Winter's Frosted Fingers
It Is Wayyyyy Too Hot For Minnesota, I Need The Cold Soon <3
It's Rainy Again. The Four Day Storm Is Lethargically Pulling It's Rain Filled Belly Across The Sky. The Air Smells Of Crispness And Decaying Leaves; Dampened By The Warm Droplets Of Water Which Collected Upon Them. The Clouds Cast A Gray Shadow Among The Mist Filled Air, Making Even A Smile Seem Somewhat Gray And Tasteless. The Dawn Is Quiet, The Retreat Of Songbirds Evident, The Scent Of Fall Prominent; Clinging To My Clothing. My Eyes Linger, Tracing The Rigid Edges Of The Storm Above. The Masculine Brim Of The Thunderheads Reminded Me Of The Storm Inside Your Eyes, One I Have Witnessed Many Times. One I Have Danced In, Took In, Loved You In. Though Now, Only A Drought Lurks In The Borrows Of My Soul, For You And Your Storm Have Deserted Me, Leaving Nothing But A Calm And Tangible Gray.
This Is Just A Short Freewrite From My English Class. I Decided To Post It Because I Have Been Absent. Hope All Has Been Well!
far out to sea
the rescue boat went

the surfer battled
against the rip

staying ashore
would have saved
on all the peril
O'er the South landscape a force did attack
Whipping winds thrashed furiously about
Buildings were smashed down by the great thwack
Angrily the tornado voiced its tout
People cowered neath protective cover
The skies were tinged in a grey green rage
Twas like a roaring train passing over
The ghastly scene was of utter carnage
Driving rains fell they added more insult
Oklahoma's South witnessed devastation
Nature had reeked an awful assault
A twister caused so much destruction
The tornado was of powerfulness
All in its path under extreme duress
mountain vistas
implored him home

peaceful these surrounds
a soul calmed

melodies strong
resonated
which spoke of return
See, wide open the gates are in welcome,
I am the city of tranquility
that appeared in your thoughts from nowhere,
you may choose to live for now,
       perhaps for ever or never.
having crossed many toll gates
in your long drive to reach here,
don't you wait, drive straight,
the capitol looms above bright,
occupy the citadel most secure
in which a few like you stayed for a while
till they figured out  what they seek,
when they resumed their journey
with heartful of joy

keep at bay the angst that chases you
from a wrong turn once you took,
experience the weather, peaceful atmosphere,
till it dawns to you, the magic of this ambience,
air, water and land unspoiled, like old times,
don't you miss the birds that
never forget to sing, be it
a harsh summer or a frozen winter.
they all make your soul
listen to the  beating heart, the city has
A free bird you are, be aware,
do whatever freedom demands,
if you choose to come back
this city sky is all yours.
