You may not like the place you're in
But it won't go away
Till you stand for your convictions
Believe in the words you say

You can have the best intentions
And still wallow in the mire
Stand firm in your decision
In the changing of desires

You need to look within yourself
To figure it all out
That is where the change begins
Beyond a shadow of a doubt

Once you decide to do that
You'll find it paramount
With the place that you're now at
How'd you ever do without

When will you find
What you're searching for
The meaning of life
Down to the core

The reason you're here
A reason to live
Been searching for meaning
Since you were a kid

The further along
The longer life drags
In all that you do
In what little you have

You'll never measure
If you're using the world
To set the standards
For all you are worth

Because the worlds standards
Are set mainly on self
Which leaves little room
For anything else

This may be hard
For some to understand
But to find your true worth
You must first lose yourself

Take all your have
And give it to God
Not in bits and pieces
But the entire lot

Then look to your worth
In Jesus Christ
Who makes it all worth
Living this life

I'm passing through an autumn day
As through an enormous tear.
A fruit full ripe with perfume sweet
Sinks slowly slowly  to my feet.

I'm passing through the wind and light.
I've never known the reason why
Seasons gone remain as branches
In those unclaimed yet by the night.

how many times have you said
that your life is one big mess
and that the ringing in your head
tells you you're a wreck

although that thought may be true
here's some positiveness for you
take the negativity off your menu
and on this tidbit chew

keep those thoughts out of your head
although they're hungry they need not be fed
there's no need for them to spread
in the time that you have left

because if you weren't a whopping mess
how ever then would you be blessed
and in who would you find your rest
with that being said

accept that yes with great finesse
the one true God loves you no less
to him you are a beautiful mess
and he can handle it

Ring...Ring

me) That's a strange area code....Yello!

God) Hello

me) Hello, who is this?

God) It's me God, don't you recognize my voice?

me) No...

God) Hmmm...that's what I thought.

me) What do you mean by...never mind, I was just getting ready to call you!

God) Ah hello it's me....God?

me) Oh yea, I guess there's no fooling you there.

God) Not really but don't think that people don't try! Haven't seen you around in a while...

me) Well you know I'm always thinking about you...most of the time. And I listen to Christian music...some of the time. Oh and I try to read inspirational books...when I have time.

God) Isn't that nice...Hey, how are the knees holding out?

me) My knees?

God) Yes your knees or more to the point...your prayer life.

me) My prayer life? Didn't I mention I'm always thinking...

God) Yea I got that, it's just the way things have been going lately I know your worried.

me) Your not kidding there!

God) Well that's why I called, to remind you I'm still in control and everything is going to work out according to my will. You do believe that don't you?

me) Yes I believe that.

God) Then you might want to start acting like it. With all that's going on around you these days you seem to have left me out.

me) You know your right!

God) Duh...I'm God!

me) Oh yeah...

God) Hey here's a novel idea (please excuse the pun) instead of reading an  inspiring book  try reading THE inspired book...My Holy Word. Every thing you need in life is there.

me) That IS a novel idea! (did you say something about a pun) Thanks I'm feeling better. Hey I gotta go there's someone at the door. Can I call you later?

God) Of course...I'm always here.
With all the troubles we seem to be going through, thought this would be a good reminder....especially for me!

There are no limits within a dream
Insanity at its most extreme
Imagination aged the child
It made me strong, it made me wild

I have ocean secrets growing deep
They're mine to ponder, mine to keep
Creativity taught and raised the kid
It gave me hopes in the places I hid

I see you out there walking
And talking to yourself
What do you do and who do you talk to
When there's clearly no one around

Do you have a load of friends
Imaginary along the way for company sake
To keep the conversation flowing
Something crazy you'd like to say

In the dead of winter
Wearing shoes with no socks
In the coldest of weather
Like that Talking Heads song

I even see you on the corner
In your pacing back and forth
Giving someone a piece of what you have left
For all that you are worth

I sit in my car and contemplate
Where you and I, we both are at
I can count true friends on my one hand
As you count the many inside your head

And who is the happiest of the two
Me or you with the stress of life
If you stop to think about
Who is really out of their mind...
I've been watching this guy for months walking the streets just a rambling and finally got up the nerve to pull over and offer him some money so he could get something to eat or whatever. (never once did I see him out begging, I just figured it was a good ice breaker) I was amazed at how clear, coherent and thankful he was. It just got me to thinking about each of our journeys and where it has and where it is taking us. But also how we on that journey can stop for just that one moment and interact with each other. He changed my way of thinking that day and perhaps I his. And after all...aren't we all a little bit crazy?

Take the leaf from out the table
The guests have all gone home
Just you and me if we are able
Once again to be alone

The emptiness that's in the silence
Grabs a hold our hearts
Wasn't it love we once relied on
Before alone came to play its part

Place the extra silverware after it's polished
Back inside the bottom drawer
We won't be needing it at all
For at least another year or more

The leftovers that we are left with
Is in not having much to say
About our missing wants and needs
With loneliness being the cutting blade

Make sure to put up all the chairs
Leaving an extra one behind
A seat where silence can sit and stare
At these lost and lonely lives
