the scent faded as fast as he slammed the door in your face

and a salty waterfall from my eyes that **** near drowned me
to finally realize

a seven o’clock alarm, my wake up call to reality
gentle golden sunlight gleams through my window
leaving a beautiful glow that coated everything except me
i lay still as the trees dance to melodies sang by birds and sway to the whisper of the wind
for a brief moment i feel calm
i have no worries as i watch the morning bloom into the day
