My mistakes do not vindicate your mistakes.
My wrong does not make your right.
My folly does not justify your folly.

Ad hominem all the way down.

Ducks skim across the river
Enjoying their taste of freedom's ecstasy
Little fishes swim under the water
Where mossy-covered pebbles
Lie underneath the blue-green water
Tiny ripples shimmer in the sun
And tiny shock waves linger
In the river's water
And in that clear water
I can see my own
Reflection
And also
A reflection
Of the
Landscape

Chris
These words are for your lips
because I know how much you hate them.
I will use my own to lay these letters on them,
and I promise I will be as soft as the words
you spoke to me before the sun woke up.
I will sink my teeth into every crack and gaping crater,
and I will fill them with everything I have left.
My fingers will trace each newly opened scar,
and I will mend each one with suture made from steel.
And as you slowly chip away, I will
keep all of your pieces together,
because you do not need to be whole to be complete.
You do not need to be whole to be complete.
wind whips around a body
      standing high upon a cliff
  they're not scared
                    and if they are
         other emotions are hiding it
conflicting thoughts
    all revolving around
                the jump, or fall
looking over the edge
   water tumbles
           crashes, water sprays
rocks are pummelled by salt water
picked on, shoved, drowned
the person glances to the sky
  the sun is setting
       they smile
a pretty last sight to see
                               clouds aren't very thick
  it'll be a cold night
            they remove their shoes
the ones they hurriedly shoved on
      before fleeing the door
looking up again
           smiling
    they take a slight run
extending their arms
          like a bird
       or plane, ready for take-off
  they fly
for a split second they're free
no one can control them now
they're away, never returning
smiling as they fly into the sun set

i want to fly
He was a fireplace
in a brutal winter,
who's warmth extended
to me,
close enough to be embraced by it.
He was the first leaf
to fall in autumn,
giving me the guidance to land second.
He was soil
from the purest garden of spring.
Baring fruit
to nourish my
eager body.
And now
He is my protecter this summer.
A cloud wide enough
withstand the powerful sun.
He keeps me from the heat
of  raging hell.
The fire that boils hate
in my heart,
that turns violently
inside of my chest,
this summer night.
He protects me from
summers temptation.
He prays
for the seasons to change.
