And then it hits me.
The wind is knocked out of me;
I feel as if I can't breathe.

I thought I had finished grieving.
Obviously I haven't.
It found me and is trying to hurt me.

"Please just let me be!" I plead.
It doesn't say anything back.
Slowly, it grabs ahold of me and pushes my head under water.

As I inhale water and start to flail,
My body goes numb.
I relax and let go.

I have succumbed to the grief.
It will be the death of me.

Slowly it begins,
A dark being creeps inside of you.
Sometimes it’s easy to stop him,
But other times he’ll possess you.

He’ll make everyone you know hate you.
You’ll turn into a monster that even you can’t recognize.

Quickly, grab on to the shred of light.
Don’t let him take you over
Because if you do,
You will never see the light again.

Fight for your might
And don’t forget to stay away.
That mean, lonely monster, that will make you forget why you ever strayed.
