We never had a sexless fantasy.
A bond so unreal.
I have seen your body naked,
no clothes underneath those sheets.
Your purest form.
I let you get more
than a glimpse of me.
You took in all of me. To take your
smooth palm and caress my curves,
I have never been so comfortable.
Our bodies needed each other.
Our souls were destined to meet.

It has been a long time since we've spoken,
since we touched.
No romance, no lust.
You are, now, a stranger
to me. Being
in each other's presence
feels like meeting for the first time.
I used to
be able to
look in the mirror and see
you -- with me.
I am, now, left to wonder
when will be the next time
we meet.

It's nights like these that everything reminds me of your brilliant face,
It's nights like these where I can't be bothered to do anything but think of you,
It's nights like these that every song reminds me of each memory we've ever made,
It's nights like these that I trace your name on my notebook instead of getting any studying done,
It's night's like these that I write countless poems about you.
I'm not a fool because I still think of you,
I'm a fool because I wonder if you still remember me.
It's nights like these that I count the stars and compare them to your eyes,
But none of them ever seem to shine quite as bright.
It's nights like these that my coffee can't seem to warm me up the way you once did,
It's nights like these that my mind wants to be set free,
But your memory is all I've got left of you.
It's nights like these I wish I could wonder,
But nothing I find is as astonishing as you are.
It's nights like these that I wish I could light up the sky so that the stars would spell your name,
It's nights like these that I wish I could be wherever you are,
It's nights like these that my mind visits the place I first caught myself gazing your way,
And it's nights like these I wish I had the chance to meet you again for the very first time
Just so I could be amazed by your enchanting ways the way I did that night,
And just so I could fall in love with you all over again.
They say, if you know how to do the wrong things the right way,
Dare...

They say if you want to enter a dark cave you've never been to before,
And that you believe within yourself you could come out alive,
Dare...

They say if you can take pleasure living with illusion
Then Dare to forget reality for a while
That if you know how to wake up before you fully get hypnotized..
Dare...
Enjoy while the moment lasts...

They say if you love the thrills and adventure,
Play with your life and skydive ten thousand feet without pulling your parachute
Or play around, you can cheat death..
Dare...

For life is about taking risks, living by the edge
And last minute change-gear boosts the adrenaline,
You Only Live Once,  they all say...

But should I dare just because it worked for them?
Should I choose the obscure over what's clearly seen ahead of me?
Should I be scared of their taunts, their laughs over my weakness?
Just because I refuse to join them at the danger zone?

Risks to some is an advantage, an opportunity
They dare with life, i surely admire the guts!
But for me, it's a big dispute, I think I'll pass...
For whether I'd want to try or taste the dope,
Behind there's a bigger matter that is involved...

**And that's something no dare is worth the risk...

I was born an idealistic stranger.
(But weren't we all?)

I fell in love with the world.

When someone said
‘**** your darlings’
I loved them to death
and broke my own heart.
we sat alone in your car
with the fluorescent lights
shining inside onto you
illuminating every single
perfectly imperfect inch
of your sad face
I turned my body to face yours
and I lifted my hand
and held your face
and you closed your eyes
and I saw a hint of a smile
I found my head nestled
in your neck 60 seconds later
and you were holding me
I said, "you are my favorite."
and I felt your cheeks rise
in a smile as they
were pressed
against my shoulder.
you said, "do you
want to see something?"
I said, "yes, show me"
you pulled up your left
sleeve and you held
out your arm
and I have never seen
something so beautiful
with my eyes before.
my mouth open in awe,
I reached out and
touched the faded
mauve lines
my fingers felt like
clouds caressing
jagged mountain peaks
I kissed you then, still
holding your arm
not knowing how to react
to something like that
I felt so special in that moment
because no one has ever
let me see so deep into them before.
none of the words I speak are
capable of describing
one single part of you,
but if they were the word
would have to be,
magnificent
