I get the impression
we all fear rejection
yet long for protection
against our recession
so here's my suggestion
let's make a connection
stop hiding affection
behind hidden expression
And I awoke to a thought-
a particular trance
of books burning and a bishop in hand-
I dreamed, I did
perchance of love,
of creaking snow globes shattering from above.

And a mantle lit
a fire blazing-
I'll fill this void with my gazing.
No one asked your opinions so why do you speak?
A voice so small
A voice so weak
Thrown to the floor with the shattered glass

Are you free now?
Free alas?

I'm doubting this quietly,
Such a sight so sightly-
Enrapture my hands and
poison my plans,
But you'll never win
while you're waiting to begin.

The game is starting dear
now come,
gather your fears-
Kiss them goodbye, send them afloat
they're bringing you down,
your passions they choke.

So breathe in this warm air of delight
Please notice the beauty of the night-
Resplendent stars will relume your way,
and carry you through
the haze of a day.

Clouds are floating by,
In the beautiful evening sky,
There is a faint sunset in the west;
And seagulls are flying home to rest.
The moon's rays fall gracefully to the ground,
Such beauty doth here abound,
The lighthouse is standing stately on the rocky coast;
I shall always love this place the most.
The waves are crashing in motion,
The moonlight reflects in the ocean,
Three palm trees are dancing on the rocky coast;
This place I love the most.
The full moon is shining from way up high,
It is so beautiful I'm ready to cry,
And as the moonlight hits the shore;
I shall hold this place dear forevermore.

A gentleman traveling through Alabama was interested in Uncle Ned. "So you were once a slave, eh?" said the gentleman.
"Yes, sah," said Uncle Ned.
"How thrilling!" exclaimed the gentleman. "And after the war you got your freedom, eh?"
"No, sah," said Uncle Ned gloomily. "I didn't get mah freedom, sah. After de war I done got married."

Such a lovely day
To stroll down a wooded path
And imbibe beauty.
...
First haiku.
I’m sure you had your reasons, with your eight legged cross hairs
You zero in, but my limbs surround and envelope
Yet would it be so hard not to fall apart or be unfair?
I need the will to check my heart with a stethoscope.
I can’t tell if I’m growing, or if I’m just beating.
I don’t know if I’m flowing, or maybe I’m just defeating...

All that I had.

Are you the type of person who would get what’s first?
Are you the type of person who would get what’s been there the longest?

My thoughts are slowly fleeting, my heart is briskly beating and I...
see what’s in store for me. Seven petals in the future is what’s eating at me.
These images in my head are spinning around and around and I...
feel the presence that is you upon my window pane, staring at me.
I just wish that I was able to touch you and feel your skin again.
I need to be able to hold you and know that you are mine again.

You’re all that I had.

I’m the type of person who doesn’t feel the need to give up...
I’m the type of person who needs to be with you for the rest of his days.
Overhead the tree-tops meet,
Flowers and grass spring ’neath one’s feet;
There was nought above me, and nought below,
My childhood had not learned to know:
For what are the voices of birds
—Ay, and of beasts,—but words—our words,
Only so much more sweet?
The knowledge of that with my life begun!
But I had so near made out the sun,
And counted your stars, the Seven and One,
Like the fingers of my hand:
Nay, I could all but understand
Wherefore through heaven the white moon ranges,
And just when out of her soft fifty changes
No unfamiliar face might overlook me—
Suddenly God took me!
I want to scatter
little pieces of us
all across this city
so it never forgets
where our love
has touched
