cold

vibrant words once nestled
drift into hollow memories
visions fade black and white
await the muse
to shine her light.

I am masked
my voice silenced
can you see
cloudy brown eyes
tear cautiously

can you see my pain
confess validated sins
slowly evaporate penance

can you see my soul,
absolved
a muted existence
lay waste

Have you heard of midnight miracles?
Demons gaze upon a forlorn realm to find remnants of hope.
Frightened Lambs turn into lions.
Spirits of life sing hymns of death.
Once your slumber is lost,
Your soul can never be found.

I tell myself
I don't need anyone
but the truth is
no one needs me

can you breathe for the both of us?

the ivy wrapped tight
around my fixated arm
it swallows me whole

time never stopped,
no matter how hard she tried,
she spent every night crying,
and the time just flew by,
she tried to make it stop,
and got sadder by the minute,
but the world just kept moving,
and time had no limit.
the clocks kept ticking,
and the world kept moving on,
but she was still stuck
at the temporary problems that never seemed to be solved.
