The constant waves of an uncertain era,
Headlines confused with stale paranoia,

Switch off the media,
Silence the social lies,

In the gift of a warm season take delight,
All pain is but a shadow in the closing of a day.

A Day, Remembered
Rangzeb Hussain Jul 2019
In the days of summer
And the harvest of autumn,

Remember the smiles of light,
Remember the days of humanity,

And remember the mercy of the Beloved,
We are the children of hope and light.

The Fragrance of Mercy
Rangzeb Hussain Jun 2019
It was spoken, at the birth of time,
And the purest of words it was,

The Beloved's eternal message,
Humanity as one, love for all,

In those summer days of light,
The message was mercy,

Speak, and smile, say the words,
Sing of the song of peace,

Once, at the birth of time,
The Beloved cradled us all.
Rangzeb Hussain Jun 2019
There will always be the darkness at the edge of days,
Fear it not,

Remember the light upon the sacred bridge of the world,
Swirling upon the precipice,

Steel ribs and concrete muscle, a building decays and dies,
Watch how life still shines,

There she contemplates the Beloved's light at the close of day,
Each movement praises the Merciful,

This is her dance, this is her wish, this is her hymn to humanity,
This is her.
Rangzeb Hussain Jun 2019
The light glittered and the season smiled,
Summer gold, life's stories richly told,

Peace and mercy, love too,
The ways of the eternal Beloved,

No more pain, no more division,
Unity for all, hope for all,

In the valley of dark and light,
Always lean towards the light.
Rangzeb Hussain Jun 2019
Wash away the downpour of pain,
Let the ache left by false leaders ebb far away,

Make that call to the smiling season of summer,
Bright light of the Beloved's eternal mercy,

Step into the parlour where dreams are heard,
These are the moments from the pages of memory.
Rangzeb Hussain May 2019
There will be days of darkness and unrest,
The land coughing sick with worry,

Leaders barricaded behind dark doors,
Ignoring the writing upon the walls,

On those days bask in the Beloved's mercy,
Stand there by the golden doors of light,

Let pain and fear ebb away to distant shores,
Drink in the sweet nectar of existence,

Heal and nourish the soul with life's glow,
Paint each day with humanity's eternal rainbow.
Rangzeb Hussain May 2019
In the late daylight a symphony of blades,
Angel wings encrusted with silent grief,

Too many lives lost,
Too many lives wept away,

O, my Lord of Mercy and Light,
Grace our world with hope,

We pray for the days of peace,
Let light and love wash away all pain.
Rangzeb Hussain Apr 2019
Your writing lit up the imagination,
Deeply human tales full of passion,
Full of life and love,
Death too,
Death upon the lonely highways of the world,
Yet even in death, you gave us hope,
The spirits of your characters lived on,
And you shall too,
Your stories will live ever on,
Thank you for the emotional magic,
Blessings be upon your soul.

Ravens flutter over branching headlines of hate,
One merging into another, day after day,
The same terrifying narrative of suspicion and fear.

Souls locked inside landscapes of ignorance,
Never quite escaping the dangerous fog of lies,
From every angle the victims suffer accusations.

She, the lady of the night’s eternal truth, she rules,
For her the moon of midnight is her crown,
Her words are the words of the silent pearls.

Darkness and prejudice cannot prevail in her kingdom,
She harvests the milk from the mountains of harmony,
Drink in her sweet dance, and remember the songs of life.

The Scent of Humanity
Rangzeb Hussain Apr 2019
The blanket of the Beloved’s light above me,
The soft grass of solitude my bed beneath me,

All around me the darkness of intolerance,
All around me it circles and prowls, closer it comes,

I have no fear of those who try to hurt me,
I have no hate for them, nor any venom,

My dreams roam in the valleys of eternity,
In those faraway fields my spirit soars freely.

Contemplation of a Soul
Rangzeb Hussain Apr 2019
O, my Lord of Light and Reason,
Bestow upon me the fragrance of peace,

No more pain and division,
No more war and suspicion,

Shine the mercy of friendship on all nations,
Give us the days of summer’s rainbow rains.
Rangzeb Hussain Apr 2019
The ink of the headlines point jagged accusations,
Daily, day after day, hour after hour they shoot blame,
On the news, in the interviews, a spotlight for hate,

People divided into starkly marked camps,
Us and Them,
With Us or Against Us,

They give oxygen to the voices of intolerance,
Casting the shadows of suspicion and fear,
Friends and families huddled in camps of confusion,

In a silent place a soul looks for the Beloved’s light,
Praying for peace, hoping for acceptance,
Deliverance is the pattern of her prayer.
Rangzeb Hussain Apr 2019
O, my Beloved, Lord of the Worlds,
Your light of life graces our existence,
Maker of All, Giver of Hope, the Almighty,

The golden hour of the day is here,

Out there, in the bones of the cold stones,
Built by working men long gone,
Their fingerprints still linger in history,

We shall remember their cemented art,

In this palace of memories comes a princess,
From far distant sands of humanity’s colours,
She dances her passion in this serene arena,

In the solitude of the light a bird flutters her wings.
Rangzeb Hussain Apr 2019
Bricks from a bygone era,
Eyes of glass gazing from times past,

Under a vast landscape of history,
There dances the heart of humanity,

Pulsating, throbbing, alive, a soul in rapture,
In tune with the Beloved’s eternal melody.
Rangzeb Hussain Mar 2019
In the springtime of that dark year of grief and loss,
The light of the Beloved glowed over the world’s soul,
Over the world’s soul,

The darker days of judgement will fade away,
Hate’s darkness will cease to be,
Will cease to be,

The songs of compassion will be heard again,
Our souls shall twinkle in the days of light,
In the days of light.
Rangzeb Hussain Mar 2019
In this world they shall hurl jagged rocks,
And they shall fire the bullets of hate,

But look,
And behold,

She turns the rocks into soft reclining seats,
And the hate she turns into the light of love.

Light of Day, Light of Hope
Rangzeb Hussain Mar 2019
Seasons of the Beloved's eternal light,
Glowing after the storms of existence,

No man made bullet shall dim the unity,
No man made pain shall dim the joy,

Step out into the landscapes of healing,
And dance to the sweet lyric of humanity.
Rangzeb Hussain Mar 2019
O, my Lord of the Worlds,
Wash away the media’s inky suspicion and division,

Our world lost peaceful souls at prayer,
Plucked by a poisonous worshipper of hate,

Bring us the dance of light and unity,
Let our days be filled with humanity’s music.
Rangzeb Hussain Mar 2019
Out there, in that cold inhuman space,
Some will never return home to loved ones,

Tonight, they sleep the sleep of the undreaming,
Their lives exterminated by bullets fuelled by hate,

Butchery raged in places of peace and serenity,
The songs of children strangled by a merciless darkness,

Know this, know this, you who sow terror and division,
Your barbaric symphony will never tear us apart,

Mercy is our song, Love too,
And we shall stand together as One.

The Song of a Dying Storm
Rangzeb Hussain Mar 2019
Depression, stress, anxiety,
All killers,

Beware their disguises,
They wear smiles and confidence,

If you have a loved one,
Go warm their heart,

Fear the rain that dawns upon midnight,
It is the symphony of regret.

GONE

Their songs will sing ever on,
And in dreams they still walk with us,

Sleep now sweet soul,

GOOD BYE
Rangzeb Hussain Mar 2019
Farewell, sweet soul,
Good bye,

No more the music of your voice,
No more the sparkle in your eyes,

A void, an abyss,
There is a chasm of grief,

And one day, one bright day,
All darkness shall be no more,

And on that day,
On that day we shall dance again,

For now, the days of silence are here,
Good bye.
Rangzeb Hussain Mar 2019
Some will use rhetoric and hostility,
Some will elect genocide and annihilation,

We will use love and peace,
We will elect to pray for unity,

One world,
One hope.
Rangzeb Hussain Feb 2019
O, my Beloved, Lord of Mercy and Life,
Give our world peace and sweet unity,

We have seen the men of war and chaos,
They fly the words of hate and division,

We shall not dance to their volcanic thunder,
In a room of colour and memories find peace,

Close your eyes and dance with your soul,
In a darkening world find the light of life.
Rangzeb Hussain Feb 2019
In a world abandoned to darkness I shall be a light,
My dance will burn brightly before the setting of the sun,

Rust and decay litter this forgotten stage of the world,
My dance shall glitter on the pathways of humanity,

I shall bow down to no fear, no hate, no violence,
My dance rises to realms few dare to contemplate.
Rangzeb Hussain Feb 2019
There is a silence that speaks of the soul,
Listen to the signs of the Beloved,

Those in search of ease and comfort,
They shall never find the pathways of the Beloved,

In a reservoir of shadows and lurking darkness,
Those are the pools where real treasures glow.

In Her Eyes, a World
Rangzeb Hussain Feb 2019
Those dark orbs, in them floats a universe of light,
Regions unexplored, spaces where light flourishes,

Those who dare to play in the darkest of places,
To them belongs the treasures of life’s purest light,

Each soul will taste the fragrance of the unseen,
Their lips will sing the hymns of immortality.
Rangzeb Hussain Feb 2019
My pillow, softer than jagged glass,
My dreams, more vibrant than a jailed rainbow,

Here I lounge, freedom dancing in my heart,
Here I weave, songs pure as silken honey,

No darkness shall cage me, none,
No fear shall trap me, none,

I am a nightingale, and these are my lands,
I am midnight, and I sing the sweet song of dawn.
Rangzeb Hussain Feb 2019
Light I had, a stage too, and the music of my soul,
In this place of solitude and forgotten memories,
I danced, I searched, and I found the Beloved,

The afternoon hour weaved light with gold,
And before the coming of the whispering dark
I flew to the glittering landscapes of contemplation.
Rangzeb Hussain Feb 2019
On the eve of Valentine,
The night roads closed in,

No cards for the abandoned,
No roses for the homeless,

Life lived from a carton,
Eaten and discarded,

They are your brothers,
Your sisters, your friends,

One the eve of Valentine,
A soul wept alone in a deserted road.
Rangzeb Hussain Feb 2019
The storms are here,
People herded into concentration camps,

The regime labels them ‘re-education’ camps,
Torture and ****** takes place there,

They broke and erased a poet and musician inside,
His name was Abdurehim Heyit,

And the world never spoke out,
It danced the lion, dragon, and celebrated a pig,

Out there,
A storm weeps.

The Fallen Poppies
Rangzeb Hussain Nov 2018
The real face of a poppy,
Blood red and blind,

They died far from home,
Fighting for rich men’s causes,

Lads from forgotten fields,
Buried in war’s merciless lies,

Their lives brief and loud,
Now, only the decaying silence,

Unbutton your red lapel flower,
And remember lest you forget,

Remember,
The price of war is humanity and truth.
Rangzeb Hussain Jun 2018
From fresh green fields,
To the decaying arches of times,
Every place of solitude is a stage,
Dance and swirl with your soul,
Ink your delicate steps and compose,
Write a symphony woven with stars.
Rangzeb Hussain Jun 2018
The name of the Beloved is in every place,
Every nest,
In every light,

The Beloved is the light in the dark,
The dance in the flame is the Beloved's song,
Only those in love with love can hear that immortal tune.
Rangzeb Hussain Jun 2018
Her name was Razan Ashraf Abdul Qadir al-Najjar,
From 7am till 8pm she helped the injured,
Tending to them on the fields of freedom.

This was her weapon,
Her white medical coat,
Now stained with her life’s blood.

“Her only weapon was her medical vest,”
Her Mother’s voice drowns in pain,
“She may have been small, but she was strong.”

The last time she saw her daughter,
“She stood up and smiled at me,
She flew like a bird in front of me.”

The angel of mercy,
Her goal was to save lives,
And offer relief to the wounded.

Her arms raised high to show she was unarmed,
She approached a victim lying upon the ground,
But the ******’s trigger only knew the language of hatred.

And a bullet blinked hard and fast,
The wrath of the single butterfly bullet was so brutal
It ruptured into three other medics.

A bullet designed to explode upon impact,
It lacerates and pulverises bone and tissue,
The Devil’s Banned Bullet.

It was a Friday,
In the month of Ramadan,
When the desert sand drank her blood.

A weeping Mother kisses a jacket
Stained with her daughter’s blood,
“I wish I could have seen her in her white wedding dress.”

Only the songs of lamentations now,
Grief shrieks through the streets without water,
And the world watches in censored silence.

Time is Friend to No Man
Rangzeb Hussain Mar 2018
Time is friend to no man,

And those who delay being with the source of warmth that nursed and loved them,
They will learn the lesson of tears and grief when the hour becomes cold.

In this day of the internet, mobile phones, and apps to communicate,
We are the most emotionally cold and remote of all societies in the history of the human race.

If you have a Mother, and she is still alive, be there for her,
Forget work, forget friends, forget the merry-go-round,
Pause your life for a moment and seek out the embrace of your Mother.

The Marriage of Humanity
Rangzeb Hussain Sep 2017
Whether you are a person of faith,
Or no faith,

Whether you are from North,
South,
East,
Or West,

Whether you lean Right-Wing,
Or Left-Wing,

Whether you are Rich,
Or Poor,

Whether you are Black,
Or White,

Whether you are Here,
There,
And Everywhere,

One thing NEVER EVER changes…
The way MAN controls WOMAN,

From the moment a girl is born,
People run around,
Society comes calling,
Elders come pointing,
All seeking to lay a word here
And a word there,

A Woman is constantly under pressure,
She is ordered around,
Manipulated by friends and foe,
Made to feel guilty and inferior,
Told to wear this and that,
Held behind as Men progress,

I say one thing and it is this:

Let a Woman have REAL CHOICE,

And those who dare to point fingers,
I say to them look to your own lives,

My faith is Humanity,
Not Man made insanity,

The light of the Beloved glows on all,
Seek compassion,
And be at peace.
Rangzeb Hussain Jun 2017
Today, far away from the headlines,
In the distant cover of sand and media oblivion,
A nation is targeting the orphans of forgotten villages,
The average age of the culled population is seventeen.

One of the world’s most advanced military war machines
Is daily incinerating the flowers of a deleted generation,
Whole areas reduced to smoking rubble and jagged bones,
This is a butcher’s paradise where schools are turned into abattoirs.

This genocide has been silenced by the complicit newsrooms,
Those who dare to speak out are condemned as traitors to patriotism,
Politicians and world speakers dance the sermon of inhuman lies,
All the while the children have their lives and dreams bled out of them.

In a hospital that was pulverized by an American gifted missile,
Little two-year old Maha clings to what remains of her fractured life,
Her glazed eyes are circled black like a Panda’s patches
Because shrapnel made a home inside her skull and spine.

Whoever you are,
Whatever race or faith,
Regardless of nation or borders,

Remember this:

WE

ONE.
Rangzeb Hussain Jun 2017
A horizon rises with man made towers,
Concrete buildings lacerating the sky,

And through it all nature watches,
The grass of ages blows in the wind of tears,

Man walks in a landscape all alone,
Weeping for the days before the darkness,

So many questions grieve inside the heart,
And a savage silence engulfs the soul of a city.

Hope in an Abandoned World
Rangzeb Hussain Apr 2017
A homeless man,
living in a rotting factory,
found a limping crow,
crawling on the road,
about to be crushed
under the wheels of a car,

The man ran into the road
and saved the bird,

He got some water,
and he found some straw,
and he built a nest,
and bought some seeds,

In a crushed world
where animals and birds
are shot for man's mad sport,
the tale of a homeless man
saving a bird
gives the human race
hope for redemption.
