Little Audrey is lunatic , clutching an album , a photo of her Mother , in Knoxville , excited and free she said !  .Audrey is falling again , without friend or flying high enough , encircled by vultures that portend her future , a downward spiral , catatonia that paralyzed her little wings ! Poor Audrey is gone now , closed doors , back on the spoon , peanut butter in her veins  ,  borealis visions made her cry , to be the apple in Mom or anyones eye !!

Cold , illusory afternoon on a smokey Locust Grove reservoir , a period piece from 1980 , the clap of the johnboat and paddle driven wakes
Bluer , straight shots across open waterways , blond hashish
serenades , remembering the fog that broke illogically just as the Sun dropped away
She posed quite convincingly like good thespians do ,
and passed within a few short Autumn days

A cloudburst blesses the other side of Panola Mountain at two a.m. .  I caught a glimpse of lighting , the clap of thunder shot straight down Highway 155 ..One farmer awarded with life giving water while another
man's hard work slowly dies ..
Storm cooled air should benefit a body in need of rest , Heats prostration knows no boundaries in 'Dog Days' , thoughts travel wild , supplications that lie unanswered in midnight sweat ..

People look away when you question their honesty , the fool with a hole in the newspaper staring at you constantly ! The lifeguard at the swimming pool , wearing thick sunglasses , the King on his throne , staring at our ***** ! Tinted car windows going down the block , mischievous teenagers high on *** ! The pizza man standing at the front door smiling , he's tapping my phone at night , can hear him breathing ! The six o'clock news on all three stations , a giant eyeball recording everything ! The jets that fly high above are also guilty , their contrails are poison spewed across our fair city ! Cable television racking our brains , twenty four hours of subliminal messages ! Our own train of thought , a victim of theft , sent to the Pentagon , stored on a shelf !

Autumn robins hop spritely in Sycamore trees
With gingerly voices , with musical tributes
just for me
Choruses of carry on , carry softly , carry me back , carry
me home heard in the breeze
Sing blue for love lost , yellow for childhood
summer , crimson for the coming dusk , violet
for the wildflowers that edge hill country thick pine forest
Chre , chree , cha -chreet
Swee , swee , cha -roo
Perform colors of the bounty of spring , of afternoon sunbeams , of boysenberries and roadside streams
Sing polyphonies of winter , snowcapped hedgerows and holiday dreams

Cooper's Hawk soars across the Northern breeze , shadowed against Hill Country's midday Sun , gaining altitude effortlessly ..
I implore , are you of troubled mind ? Preferably alone like me or ascending with great celebrity for all to see ?
Ne'er a more noble raptor did grace and dignify Georgia's cobalt blue skies , with steel countenance , the voice of a Delilah befitting the very Choir's of Heaven ..

Rain and street rejoice
Mist is born
She kisses every window , windshield and

Human shadows return to dwell 'neath street
lanterns
The whistle of the constable , the music of the

Ministering the parched
Filling the cistern , the branch and the riverbed
Western winds cool the naked , the sinner ,
the pious and the fabric of the nightwatchman ...

A rainy day brain bursting -
at imaginations spillway ..
For I envisioned antebellum visitors in period
vehicles nodding their approval here -
at the prickly close of day ..
Brown sugar November shrubbery
crackled in the scorn of winter-ways ..
Lead , case hardened steel , black powder-
and the corruption of the dead ..
Widows , orphans and city blocks afire
Put your religion & its army on my shelf
whilst I **** upon the fires of the liars and their wealth ..
Awakened in the midst of a cavalry charge ..
Thunder . Screams , stealth and brutality ..
Death celebrated with fried catfish , potato salad-
and baked beans ..
The laughter of children has replaced the cries of pain..
Chillbain lifted with the onset of warm July rain ..

French toast this morning with an old friend . Blackberry topping , cranberry smoothie , cappuccino , morning music ! We go way back together , elementary school , tenth grade , the birth of my daughters ,when Dad was laid to rest ! You appear every morning at six , in the back of my mind at Noon , sometimes everyday for two weeks straight ! Changing well rehearsed plans at the last minute , gazing out of windows into downtown , coaching myself back from sheer misery , watching calls diverted to voice mail ! Shadows are visible beneath the door ,voices in the hallway , making rash decisions , steering the vessel without me . Trapped in a cube , encircled with wire , receiving wi-fi messages via the mind . A plastic tree in the corner , we're brothers of the charade , appearing perfect , vigorous and dominant when we're actually cheap facades ! Dropped down to my knees , put my face against the air register , cool wind chills my skin , taking me back to another place . Dressed for Winter , braced for frigid weather at the bus stop . Red and blue mittens , silver snow boots , black scarf . Frosted bus windows , people struggling to make it to their cars , laughter on the bus increases , call me zero divisible by one , not water but rain , sent to great heights only to be cast down hard upon the Earth again ! Not steam at street level but a thunderstorm , cloudburst with imminent straight line winds , headfirst into the ground !

I recall the evening invocatory call to the will of the 'Almighty' by
a visiting Pastor .. Ladies with fans , gentlemen waving hats .. Thunder
hammering the next county over to the west , streetlights filled with bugs and the occasional brown bat ...
Babes crying out , children becoming restless , his oratory becoming louder with each concurring "Amen' from the crowd ..
Tent ***** swaying ever so gently , the sweat on Dad's forehead and the smile on Granny's face , a stick of gum from Mom to get me through the evening sermon on a humid southern night ..
Tables lined end to end filled with potato salad , fried chicken and baked beans .. Ambrosia , peach pies and cakes .. Sweet tea ...
Evening dinners with gospel quartets and old time bluegrass bands ..
The kids receiving their Vacation Bible school certificates after the congregational feast .. The drive home ..Carried indoors , tucked away in bed with fond memories ..

Does life teem beneath the ice ?
A hardened facade meant to protect
and hide , to reflect a star gone wild ,
a leviathan bridge to the other side-
as the tadpoles beneath continue to forage for
their lives in relative peaceful devise
Tis a moral dilemma to puncture such a shell
Ironically toying with a newfound civilization ,
inflicting damage , a population in fear of total
destruction just as we've gradually , thoughtlessly
pillaged our own , a once plenteous reserve becoming empty
