To the Child ...
Take a country pond , transform it into the raging North Atlantic
Make a curled leaf riding its surface the doomed Titanic
A Reed is a Sorcerers wand in the right hand
A rock becomes a shooting star hurtling into the ocean
Walk home through cotton fields filled with surprise
The house , a Castle waiting for the King or Queen to arrive

Untitled
I hurt things that I come in contact with
People , the ground beneath my feet , childish creativity deep inside  , overwhelmed by panic on a city street , the queer and his feminine tendencies or the crier with his depressive propensity , love sizes me , seeking a weak angle , a tender spot , then kills me ...
I've died many times on the inside
Responsibilities , relations , relatives
Mentally beat , ridiculed , forever meek
Stepped over like a piece of rotting meat
Empty rooms are homicidal entities , friends are a temporary
truce among blood enemies

My Commitment
I concur with the calling Red-tailed Hawk -
in stoic visage over the painted field
At peace with the Spring farmer laboriously -
yearning to ever increase his Fall yield
I've knowledge of each grain of sand ensconced -
in myriad granite stones on the midnight path
Open to wisdom with the eyes of an Owl , in tune
with my past as the Buck patrolling the hardwood line
Settled as the Turtle Dove on daybreak frosted moors
As protective of my forested home as the wrath of
ravenous Bobcat , tempered with the hope of every songbird
in flight

Cedar trees standing o'er twenty feet tall , Wild Plum

Dirt roads at each intersection , a lonely state highway

There's a sparrow perched on the wrought
