I smell Freedom
But I am living wisdom

All other musical instruments gathered in high and low dramatics

There was a very close friend
A man being and the warmth like the sun
A smile that would make the Moon grin
The man, my buddy Franklyn Greene
He died three years ago
I didn’t take his death well when I was told
I knew him over 30+ years from teenage to adult
It’s hard when you lose someone close
Mr. Greene is worthy of my boast
He was like nobody else
He had strength to turn a small rock into pebble pieces
Yet, had strength in character
Franklyn Greene was my biggest fan and always gave me inspiration.

Mr. Greene would often say, “I have seen you grow from teenager to a Man”
I am proud in who you have become
You believed in yourself, and he always believed in me
It was Franklyn Greene’s assurance and influence that I began
To believe in my own purpose in life
Fulfilling my dreams that became realities meant to be
Strong Man
Mr. Greene was always full of encouragement
My destination surfaced through the morning sunrise surpassed Beyond the sunset.

Life can be funny at times and complexed
It’s the hard knocks being the learning experiences through the pitfalls in making one strong and making one’s life complete
Mr. Greene, you were instrumental in my life more than you know
You are looking down on me with giving me an applause

It was September 1983 being an autumn call
I am looking into my crystal ball, and it states it was a vacation with no stall
It was a Coast too Coast journey on a Greyhound Bus
My trip started from New York City too Los Angeles, California
I leaned back in my reclining seat
The Hound Bus with pictured windows made the scenery look ever so neat
This trip was definitely going to be a treat
It will be scenery that traces back in America’s history

There were Rest stops with arrivals and departures from Major Cities and towns
I am West Coast bound
4 Days exactly being the sound
I am writing my travel log
My journey involved high places such as Mountains and tunnels within the mountains

My thought being, “This is how the West was won”
Venturing into the nothing more than the open road, and wide with acres of land space
It was various highway routes
Getting ever so close to my destination

It was sight before my eyes, the magnificent city of Los Angeles

The action was exploring in the movement
The Hound bus to return back East later
But for me, this is a vacation being a feast

Situation and Circumstance
Walking through a storm feeling afraid
On that very day, I was among a storm full of lightning, Thunder, winds and pouring rain
It felt like Heaven’s rage on the Earth
It came to mind a cleansing
Being in the middle with no shelter to run to nor go under
I felt danger
A voice unspeakable, but knew it was far away and said “Don’t be afraid I won’t harm”
It was a voice certainly wasn’t human, but there was a message
Heaven’s calling
I knew the storm I had to go through and withstand
A God’s kingdom test

The outcry of mysterious
The mind seemingly just being curious
Lightning flashed and the Thunder continued to crack in echoing distance sounds
Inner and enter felt like a rush
All I could do was just hush and be silent
I saw numerous lightning bolts simultaneously being everywhere at the same time in streaks
I witnessed it all
It seemed like a reminder in never be afraid, but always assured
Soulful overcast, but never alone
When I finally got home, my Mother asked me how did I make it through the storm?
She was worried, but saw my face showing inspired
My response, God has ways and understanding becomes education
