There was a king
Songs were to his liking
There was a singer
Summoned by king's finger
The singer sang
Song after song
King was pleased with melody
Declared gift after gift
And enquired the singer,
"Are you pleased"
The singer said. "Yes, my lord"
The king then called it a day.
At the end of the day
Singer was expecting gifts
But none to come by
He threw his anxious looksΒ
at the passing king
The king said,
" I am pleased with your voice.
So too, you are pleased withΒ
my voice. That is the gift"
