Red tail squirrels squeezing their plumb round bodies through the small pegs of the wired fence. They greet a man entering the park. The slightly hunched over figure, scrolls by pushing his bike. They eagerly scatter around him, bouncing their bushy tails as they circle him. The grey-white haired old man smiles, as he approaches his tiny friends. Climbing up his bare legs, standing on his bike, clinging to his clothing, as he snaps his fingers invitingly. More hurry down from the trees to greet him. He reaches into his page, revealing a large bag of peanuts. Curious onlookers reach for their phones, to capture this remarkable sight. In anticipation of their feeding, the now large mob of squirrels gathers. They push and shove at each other, larger squirrels, bully the smaller less experienced squirrels for position. While standing on their hind legs, with thief tiny hands extended. Their meager attempt to catch them, is comical at best. The fresh peanuts as they rain down from the generous man’s hands.
