Penitence
Father forgive me my sins,
for I come seeking love
when those who have loved me
have suffered on mine own account.
I come with nothing to give,
I prostrate myself before You
in Your House in St. Augustine
a mere mortal Fool,
besotten with drink and fear.
Father please forgive me,
the sins I have committed in my own name,
this denial of You,
this anger toward You.
