It was never as dark as I thought it might be,
the light from your eyes seemed to set the night free
and the shadows I felt disappeared from me
it was never as dark as I thought it might be.

One hundred thousand fireflies could not match
the light from your eyes,
though they'd try
and oft' in vain
their light could never be the same as
the light that lit the path that lit
my day.
