Have you ever stepped out of bed
Awaken from hibernation
Unravel from your cocoon of blankets
Lift arms and pull muscle from bone
Soft cracklings like the afterbirth of new wings

Well I spent the night
Spent fourteen whole hours someplace else
Flickering eyelids
Spasmodic twitch
I only wanted to forget the warmth of your palms pressed against my skin
