within the next few weeks the shop fronts
in all the commercial streets
shall be displaying a large range
of Christmas treats

all of these items will be so enticing
they'll beckon our credit cards to spend
and by the end of this 2014 calendar year
our banks shall ask us to pay for our big spend

be a little on the wise side when forking the dollars out
as it may well leave our credit cards in a drought
Christmas spending is so much fun
but we should not let our purchasing overrun
