so eloquently
she spoke of her nights
not one spent sober
so casually
she recited her daily patterns
of picking the right fix
to banish indecisiveness

"that'll **** you."

she smiled
sighed
turned her head
but not to cry
she felt his eyes on her
as if she should have had
a more assuring reply
