The tears of a clown
Silently spill
Behind the makeup
Internally

The world cannot see
Truth masked in smiles
The fool to all
But really to himself

Pain shielded in mire
Hilarity the cloak
Protecting truth,
The Shadow

Which lives in all of us,
But in none so obviously
As when it is not visible,
At all.

Release this shadow
And diminish it's power
Relinquishing the truth,
Is all that will relinquish you
And ultimately save you,
From yourself!
