Into the night wind I walked
A walk I would never forget
From the delicate dust that fell onto my lips
To eyes reddened by the mist of my past
A taste to a memory
For where we all end

Dust is to dust as for all that we fall
As is the water we own
This whispering vapor
Forms the rain from our souls
Yet the spark from old beats
Goes on
Into an never ending ocean rippled to life
Gone still the breath

A lick to a wipe
Gave way to my past
Gave way to my parents for they have gone
Gave way to faded stones from dirt filled holes
Gave way to lives lost
And for what ...and for who

Life does not disappear
Water does not just fade away
Nor does the life spark inside us die
Even so
Our memories do
Our understanding wanes and our perception falters

Into the night wind I walked
To taste test my gone past
To remember old loved ones
To know still.. they are here
In one form
In take my breath
In be my life

Dust
