An amused chuckle in my ear
With soft, warm breath brushing
Ever so gently past my neck
A wild, carefree guffaw in the field
While I smile and roll my eyes
At your stupid little jokes
A laugh. Your laugh.
Pure happiness in the form of a
Loud, goofy giggle
It plays over and over in my mind
Your laugh.
It whisks me away
Takes me back
Back to when we had something
To before you were nothing but
Your laugh.
Echoing in my mind
Resurfacing the painful memories
Up from the graves I buried them in
The flashbacks, they consume me
Your laugh.
Is all I can hear
I'm drowning in our memories
Missing us desperately
Going through hell without you
While you just laugh at me.
