May 2014
mine, my mothers, daughters
mouths stitched shut
so tightly kept hearts
would not cut
too deep

held so high
in minds
but bodies bound
in dark places
so their light could never blind

β€œthey fear us, you know,
but you should never let their fear
shame you.”

Never dull your spark, my little one.
