My homework** screams to be released
Like the pain of a child who only wants peace.

My head aches from the assignments and pressure
Pen and paper at hand but not to written with poetry's pleasure.

School isn't meant to teach you about life
It just teaches how to pass exams, well we might.

Teachers only caring if the course is done
I know no one said it was going to be fun.

I fear when we get out of this book surrounded cocoon
we will not know how to fly.
The world is so big for this little butterfly.

Learning to build a cocoon is what seemed right
but now how do you cope with the bright light?

So IΒ Β pack my bag and head out the door
Because this is right now; lets learn to soar.
