Often think I'm odd
to fall in love--
a well too deep
to crawl out unscathed.

So I stay outwith
peeping inside the pit,
hearkening to sundry sounds
of infectious laughs--

jealous--

I too cheerfully fell
into affection's well.

How I was wrong!
