if i said i loved you
i'd be lying
for it is not the spoken word
that captures my breath
and turns my heart
as quickly as the stem of your watch
it is merely your existence to me
that enthralls me so violently
that i dare not speak
for surely i would utter
what my heart is trying to say

-beat-
your eyes
  --again--
  oh, your lips
    ---faster---
    but now i cannot breathe
      ----much more----
       and i will faint
dizzy
     under all that you are

beat not
--beat strong--
