It was a Greyhound bus with the precise beam headlight
Another greyhound bus from the opposite direction in sight
Both Greyhound buses flashed on and off of lights
This was a form of communication in being polite
Yet darkness had control throughout the night
The moon could be seen in plain sight
It also highlighted the highway below
But cars, buses and trucks were keeping up with the highway flow
As our Greyhound bus pushed on
It was a journey in long and waking up in a yearn
It would be about arrival time
This is what our Greyhound Driver had in mine
The hound dog far from taking a nap
The Greyhound Driver wore proudly his cap
It’s eyes on the road
On-time arrival in behold
An overnight ride
We made it to our destination in stride.
Darkness on the highway and light guided into direction as indication
