Death in August
Sweet wisteria
Weakly protesting their death
By covetous hand
Never had they bloomed
In such profuse abandon
Till those last three years
Trailing sad windows
Lush purple riot of vines
Struggle to protest
One morn I woke to
Roar of angry bulldozers
At the empty house
Nothing there remains
One brief hour quickly shattered
My belovรจd home
