Someone you left behind
Out of selfish fear
Something so different from that time
During that one, awakening year

Crawling through the leaves,
You wait for your chance to come again
To make or break, that gentle heave
And perhaps this time your heart won't break, but bend.

Broke the heart and it whimpered away,
So quietly, to a betrayer, a reckless soul
You caused it to be that way.
Made the madman the fool

Maybe the sky tears fall
In reverence to all that was lost
