She was sitting by the crystal fountain
with thunder on her face
and the tears in her eyes
were from the crushing reality
for he was gone
just his last letter and dog tags

She dropped his letter into the water
never would she hold another
did she think he would go
not as the crystal fountain flowed
with tags in hand she fell to her knees
and she seeped painful tears

Never love a warrior
for most don't live that long
and she has faced up
that he is really gone
bitterly she cried
never love a warrior
