She stands in the watch tower
waiting for the one she loves
every morning to evening she spy's
with wanton tears in her eyes
and with trembling lips
she whispers, come love back to me

She feels like a widow
so married to loneliness
she has even forgotten
what it was liked to be kissed
so she cries oh she cries
in the tower of sorrow so high
