Please don't cry, I told her
as I caught the tears falling from her face
I come from a land of warriors my love
we are only weapons to the greater good

So I hold her in my arms
I must not get attached to feelings
for if I lower my guard
all my disciplines will be for nothing

Gently I caress her face
and somehow I make a smile
inside I am crying
I know she knows I may die

This is the price of battle
the rejection of all you love
for I leave tomorrow
to fight in the skies above

So this tender moment
I lie and tell her I love her
for if I did really love her
I would not tomorrow fly
