Life charges at you
So hold still and embrace it
When it makes contact
It is what it is
Look at it sideways
Look straight on
Don’t be scared, look from another glass
It’s all perception
All alone in the quiet den
The winter’s kiss caresses my face
One of the lucky ones
For this moment I’m blessed
How did it get this bad?
I hope I do not make my home in those feelings
Trapped in an emotional enigma
I recall sitting there
With the angels smiling at me
The candles we’re all lit
And I felt safe, I felt sane
Because it was grand
I was told it was magic
There was no question
It was still the beginning
