She walked down the silver staircase
as if she had just been sent from heaven
her white dress gleamed in the sunlight
and her radiant smile told me, I love you

I asked my best man to pinch me
to be sure this was not a dream
when he did, it hurt
then I knew, this was what it seemed

Her grace could never be given poetic justice
for she is far beyond the reach of words
as I watch her come closer to the altar
my heart took flight with the birds.
