Its so hard to let go
when its so easy to remember
as I watch other fragmented memories
numerous as grains of sand
shimmering on the shore
getting buried by the tides
of new thoughts
seeking beauty in its destruction
but the fires have died
and my eyes
never really have adjusted to the darkness
