Zebra Crossing
There it was just sitting
in the middle of the street
all black and white
waiting
for traveling feet
Herds of milling bipeds
traversed across it
as it stretched across
a sweltering pit of tar
While masses of
Auto.. mo.. biles
broke itβs back
wait
I think...
they call them...
Cars?
I just stood back
Watching
Waiting
Wondering
just contemplating
But stillβ¦
I was at a complete loss
I keep a vigil at the curb
waiting
for the zebra to come
and wonderingβ¦
*how do they know where to cross?
