Her kind hands reached out from the water
I tried to pull her out, yet she pulled me in
could it be she wanted to marry me
to swim in her beauty and wonderment
I did not have the heart to tell her
that I was married to the sweet winds

She pulled me close to her
that's when she saw my ring
rising out of the water
she cried and whispered why
that's when I turned away
from the pain in her eyes

Don't go stay with me, she pleaded
I shook my head and rejected her
please kiss me just one more time
just one more kiss she cried
I turned to face her tear filled eyes
I stroked her hair and gave her my last kiss
