Deep in the valley
I found him a long way off.
Deep in the valley.
And not on higher ground.
I found him drinking his sorrows.
And strumming his guitar.
I found him wallowing, without a sound.
To him, I extended a hand.
I offered him forgiveness.
But instead, I found him buried under a moundβ¦
Called shame,
Thereβs no other name,
That destroys the same.
