On world Poetry day
The world takes flight and
Poetry dances from day to night
Under the moonlight and we will
All gather round both young and old
And Poetry and stories from the
Heart are been told

So today we sing and dance and
With hope and joy and the dreams we bring
With pens and pencils in hand
And our voices soar to the sky
Unlocking hearts and every
Poet seeks more and

The whispered breeze in twilight's glow
Carries thoughts where wildflowers grow
Each line a thread each verse a song
In every culture we all belong

So raise a glass to poets might
And let's have fun tonight and let
The verses ring both far and wide
And let words ignite a burning light
And we praise every Poet in life
Especially our hero Robert Burns tonight
And on this day set for poets pride

For in their songs our spirits soar and
World Poetry day forever etched in fame
And every Poet will find there
Voice the truth and the way and
Poetry is the language of souls and  
World Poetry day a treasure to behold.
