The ocean is as vast as my peering eyes could see from the loft.

The ocean feels like silky waves, smooth and soft.

Jump in, away from worry, away from dry.

It tastes salty, like the tears I cry.

The ocean carries packages like the mail-man at your door.

The ocean is as delicate as glass but can cut you up all the more.

The ocean is a place of false reality,

Mirroring everything you see.

The ocean is as dangerous as an abyss,

Yet calming like a goodnight kiss.

It lulls me to sleep,

Yet it plunges me so deep

And when I finally walk away, mindless to roam,

All I could think of is that the ocean is like my home.
An English assignment in eighth grade describing the intricate details of the ocean.
